We all should know God for ourselves Zita, but would you not agree that we need evidence to confirm something? Would you not also agree that people do ignore evidence for their own selfish purposes?
For example, is it not true the thousands - if not millions of people have lost their live ignoring evidence, and only because they were seeking their own selfish desires, or listening to those, seeking their own desires?
Did those people have to die, or were their lives lost due to selfish desires?
How sad that people lose their lives because selfish people wanting to satisfy their own desires hinder them from saving it.
Some persons have died in similar events because of not wanting to leave their home.
Another example is people who tell others that "God will not do good or bad. god will not judge you for this or that. God is not interested in religion, or any particular way of worship." Is that true? How would we know?
Zephaniah 1:12
At that time I will carefully search Jerusalem with lamps, And I will call to account the complacent ones, who say in their heart, ‘Jehovah will not do good, and he will not do bad.’
How sad that people will lose their lives because of listening to these opinions fueled by selfish desire.
Are we really thinking for ourselves, or finding God for ourselves, when we listen to opinion, rather than find out what the evidence says is the truth?
Where does the evidence point to, as the source of truth?
The only way we can find God, is to know how he communicates his will to us, would you not agree?
If I reject that, it is no one else's fault but mine. I will lose my life.
Think of this. You are at the beach.
Suddenly, the sea recedes out far into the distance.
You never saw such a phenomenon.
Some people start going out to the water, looking at the reefs, the shells.
Some seem happy to see such a surprising sight.
Some are concerned, and start to warn persons to high ground.
However, some scoff and mock, encouraging the people not to listen to "such foolishness".
It's our choice. We must know for ourselves if truth lies in our opinion, or what gives evidence of God's truth.
