So what do you think of blasphemy laws, should they be abolished including in Muslim countries?
No, of course not. They are Islamic. However, how they are applied requires attention in many Islamic countries.
It's by no means to protect God, but the society.

Once again let's try to make some sense of this:
Quran 9:28
O you who have believed, indeed the polytheists are unclean, so let them not approach al-Masjid al-Haram after this, their [final] year. And if you fear privation, Allah will enrich you from His bounty if He wills. Indeed, Allah is Knowing and Wise.
Quran 9:29
Fight those who do not believe in Allah or in the Last Day and who do not consider unlawful what Allah and His Messenger have made unlawful and who do not adopt the religion of truth from those who were given the Scripture - [fight] until they give the jizyah willingly while they are humbled.
Quran 9:30
The Jews say, "Ezra is the son of Allah "; and the Christians say, "The Messiah is the son of Allah ." That is their statement from their mouths; they imitate the saying of those who disbelieved [before them]. May Allah destroy them; how are they deluded?
Notice how the whole theme around 9:29 seems to be a critic of polytheists, Christians, and Jews.
Very much in tune with the main message of the verse.
They are flawed people by not believing in Allah so let's attack them until they pay jizyah or die.
The historical context doesn't support the idea that this is a nonviolent verse and instead looks a lot closer to an open call to attack the unbelievers.
Any volunteers to explain how this verse can possibly be seen as not violent?

Nobody is attacking the Muslims at the time (historically)
The attack is not defensive but aggressive based on religious beliefs.
The attack doesn't stop when the enemy stops the aggression, the enemy is not attacking.
No way around it, this is Islam in its pure aggressive and dangerous form.

Muslims don't divide the verses of the Qur'an to violent and non-violent, but using your terminology - it does support that.
They were planning on attacking and they killed the emissary.

Blasphemy is condemned in the Qur'an and the Bible, and it was condemned by Muhammad.
Blasphemy laws protect the society when applied correctly.

There is void of Islam in a large chunk of what he is saying, it's just ridiculous.
The only quote-unquote "Islam" he "knows" (parrots) is what is spoonfed to him by his own authority figures, which aren't very high-scholarship, academia, anthropology, theology, metaphysics, philosophy, and so forth.

Verse 9:29 was revealed during the expedition of Tabuk which happened AFTER THE KILLING OF THE MESSENGER AND AFTER THE BATTLE OF MU'TAH.
The killing of the messenger caused the battle of Mu'tah but had nothing to do with verse 9:29.
Verse 9:29 was revealed after Muhammed knew the Byzantines were not planning on attacking and was returning with his army.
During his way back, Muhammed encountered some Christians and Jews' towns and decided to get paid.
That's where 9:29 came in handy.
He decided to "fight the unbelievers" for no other reason than getting some Jizyah payments on his way home.
Stop being that naive. Do you really believe that Muhammed's army looked that much different than ISIS?
Do you really believe that the Byzantines looked that much different than the ones that crucified Jesus close to 700 years earlier?
Did you really expect honorability from these barbaric people?

I don't care about Islam as a religion but I cannot keep Islam away from my mind when every time I watch the news the "Religion of Peace" is responsible in some way for crimes ranging from abductions, rapes, genital mutilations, beheadings, terrorist attacks, etc.
