Respectfully, this is simply petty. Men have worn beards in every single culture since before Islam, thousands of years before. Islam hardly has a monopoly on beards.

I know it's pretty. I don't know what's wrong with me, I just can't get past it for some reason. It's embedded deep in the core of my soul. As if, Maybe my ancestors were enslaved by Mohammadans or battled them or something, and that intuition was encoded in my soul.. IDK.

All I know is that I can't get past it.

I'll be honest though. I agree that beards can be dirty, mine is a pain to keep up well. But I keep it out of a bit of laziness sometimes, considering it grows back in 4 days.

Nowadays, clean-shaven is the exception and not the rule.

The increasing number of men with beards has nothing to do with Islamic culture invading the West. It's also nothing to do with fashion, laziness or the general decline of society.

By contrast, beards were common on men until the advent of modern military dress codes, which often required that men be clean-shaven, presumably in an attempt to prevent lice infestations among soldiers. But now that we have modern conveniences such as cheap mass-produced shampoo and better personal grooming products and habits, there isn't much reason for men to be clean-shaven. Bearded men is a return to historical norms.

I think facial hair is dirty-looking and unsanitary. It's also very uncomfortable to wear. I think men look better clean-shaven.

Well, you need to get over it as it's not grounded in reality or any sort of reasonableness. Beards became popular recently due to to white urban hipsters, not Muslims. Muslims don't have that sort of cultural reach in America. Most of the beard care products at your average store are marketed towards hipsters, so that should give you a clue as to who is behind the trend.

I personally have a beard since I look better with it and it goes with my shaved head and the subcultures I'm part of. It helps my face look very masculine. Nothing to do with religion. I would have it regardless of trends. I do not see beards going away, though, the same as tattoos and piercings won't really go away since all of them have become more socially acceptable. Those kinds of things used to be the norm.

I was born in 1964. I'm so accustomed to seeing clean-shaven men for most of my life. All the men in my family were clean-shaven. My 1908-born grandfather thought men with beards looked like dirty bums or hippies. It is customary to cut off the male foreskin in America for sanitary reasons. Foreskins look weird on nude men and boys. Hair on guys' faces also look weird. I can tolerate the looks of a well-trimmed mustache, but that's it.
