John Paul...is that a church college or state school ?....I live in Tokoroa, just down the road
LOL Crazy! I've lived in Lichfield/Putaruru
I remember when they opened the heated pools in Tokoroa, we used to go there all the time! And we'd occasionally go there to go to the movies, because Putaruru didn't have a theatre!
It's... a Catholic school, but has some state funding. Exactly how much, I've no idea, but we didn't have excessively high school fees, just a "donation" (that they constantly reminded us about not having paid )
It is just a relaxation method where most people just fall asleep.
I'm just wondering why is mediation not a some small part ( at least ) of school learning in most western countries...yet in places like India it is very prevalent..
If I sit in a chair and try to meditate I seem to always go into siesta samadhi.
Friend WY,
Yes, very common thing for beginners as we do not have enough energy to keep our minds still for long!
I will say this in response to this topic- hard to meditate for those who are caught up in excessive materialism and attachment to sensations like pleasure and pain. Western society is run amuk with that.
Why is meditation not taught in schools ?
I know of one school district in Vermont that High school kids learn Yoga and meditation.
Govt. is BY, FOR and TO the people. Meaning that when people individually wake up, society or govt too wakes up and then laws are put in place accordingly.Government schools will not support/encourage/include such a thing.
