Indeed, it would be a little awkward to discuss it in the midst of the wooing.

Will you be having the Fish? or the Chicken? or perhaps the Surf and Turf is more to your liking.

I hardly see what's so strange or difficult or problematic about stating your preference/s.
It's much like stating any other preference. As is, it's pretty much exactly the same thing.

I think the answer is more that many societies are unhealthily obsessed with sex, who is sleeping with who, and those who allow themselves to be defined by their sexuality (such as men who will not do or say many things for fear of being labeled effeminate or homosexual).

We should just ban words. All they do are serve as devices for us to divide humanity even further. Look at the division caused by just this thread!
