Yes, you seem to be slow. Is this on purpose, as comic relief? If so, it isn't working.

1) a Belief is different from an object. So, If I believe that the earth is alive, you can reject my belief without any regards to the real earth, or making it necessary that it is alive.

2) I believe in Santa Clause. Since there are people that don't believe in him, he must exist.
Your "slowness" makes itself quite evident.God is just an invention of man, a concept.A poorly constructed one ,in fact, when you have the ability to look at it from a different point of veiw. The sixth sense one uses when questioning religion is common sense.

God would not exsist if man did not exsist. We ,unfortunately, are solely to blame for the exsistance of god.

I'm not sure I agree with that. I'd probably reply, 'but there isn't a god, and their are atheists.'

Very good reply. :biglaugh:

Also, if there were not a God, there would still be religions. Religion is a part of humanity, for better and worse.

..even atheists have beliefs. To not believe is a belief itself and a part of them that is their choosing.[/QUOTE]

If you are referring to religious beliefs, you couldn't be more wrong.Atheism is a lack of religious beliefs.I think you're trying to convince yourself that everyone has them when we don't.

Greenman,

I am not sure who you are talking about, but I said that if there were no God, we would still be having this conversation.

The blog sucks. Life goes on. Don't forget to dance!! :jiggy: :jiggy: :jiggy:

From a religious point of view, you're right. From an atheist point of view, there's no god to have a conversation about.

I'm new here,so howdy,howdy,howdy.

Associations are a part of humanity. Religious association (and organization) is not a neccesary function or attribute of humanity. Spitrituality can be argued as part of humanity (The God Gene, by Dean Hammer) but that in no way needs to be enclosed by religion.

most atheists i have met became that way after trying to understand christianity. they found there were no answers to their questions within christian dogma besides "you just have to believe" or "you have to accept jesus as your personal God and saviour, then you will understand". Then they gave up on believing in God.
So one of my favorite quotes is: "Christianity breeds atheism."
LOL, that quote is both funny and accurate.

"The argument goes something like this:
"I refuse to prove that I exist" says God, "for proof denies faith, and without faith, I am nothing"
"But", says Man, "the babel fish is a dead giveaway, isn't it? It could not have evolved by chance. It proves you exist, and so therefore, by your own arguments, you don't. Q.E.D."
"Oh dear", says God, "I hadn't thought of that.", And promptly vanishes in a puff of Logic.
"That was easy", says Man, and for an encore goes on to prove that black is white and gets himself killed at the next zebra crossing."
