If not to protect themselves from the eyes of the non-muslims and not also from the muslims, then from whom?
It appears to be a practice that was designed to
protect muslim men from having to engage in self-control.
Similar to covering up the cakes because the children refuse to learn self-control, not the best way to go about it in my opinion.
Correct. I just wish certain people would stop pretending they are noble and pure, whilst claiming the non-believers are sinful, lustful immoral dogs.
regardless, everyone should respect the laws of the country.
Including Burkha-clad women in the west? Or does "When in Rome" only apply when it's non-muslims in muslim countries?
The quran doesn't mention sexual abuse, so no it isn't about avoiding rape or such.
Why doesn't the koran mention sexual assault? This is the final message of almighty god after all. . .
On average, who would a Man rather rape a women whose butt is wide open or a women whose body is covered not to mention niqaab.
To my knowledge, the majority of rapes are committed by someone who closely knows the victim. The whole "woman walking alone on the street" scenario actually makes up the minority of cases.
Still, I honestly do not know as I am not a rapist and do not know their thought-patterns. Though I would guess they'd look for an easy, submissive target: so that could actually be the woman "submitting to god" in the Niqab.
I am not okay with it, it is just that it is their own free choice in my opinion. Many people will not appreciate it and will cause conflict
May I ask why you're not okay with it?
