Concepts are composed idea. We experience concepts when we compose the ideas. What about it?
I participate in debate to learn more about how others think.I was just thinking, I've never seen anyone really win or lose in a debate here. Maybe if the site could somehow implement a debate scoring system and have a pop-up declaring your official victory at some point, I would be more motivated to participate in debates for the sake of debate.

It's not whether one wins or loses, but how pathetic you can make the other guy's argument look.I was just thinking, I've never seen anyone really win or lose in a debate here. I participate in debate to learn more about how others think.
This in turn influences my perceptions of other theologies and philosophies, and at times has influenced my own religious philosophy.
Also defending ones own ideas encourages one to learn more about what one is defending.

It's not all about 'winning and losing'.
I've toyed with the idea of doing that here as a one-on-one debate. I do formal debating in RL and I would like to figure out some way to translate the concept to the online world.I was just thinking, I've never seen anyone really win or lose in a debate here. One doesn't. Empirical experiences are physical. Mental experiences are mental. How does one physically experience a concept?

Edit: I worded that poorly. "Mental" is the empirical experience of thinking, so both are empirical. I should have said physical experiences are empirically physical, and mental experiences are empirically mental.
They are one. And two.But mind and body *are* connected...
Doubleplusgood duckspeak. They are one. And two.
It's not double-speak. It's not incoherent.Doubleplusgood duckspeak.
