Why the Double Standard on Jesus and Allah U.K.?

Stanyon

A Canadian activist now has a lifetime ban from entering the U.K. for making posters that read "Allah is Gay" for a social experiment. It seems to me that the U.K. is bowing to the fear that intolerant people who cannot handle living in a *previously* free speech western society might get violent if they feel offended, so what is the real problem? the person making the posters or the people authorities fear might cause trouble or hurt someone because of a sign?

"In a video posted to her YouTube channel, she says: "This highlights a monumental double standard in Western societies, why is it racist to say Allah is gay, but not Jesus is gay?"

" she was detained at the border crossing in Calais under the Terrorism Act earlier this month. It's reported that it was here she was told she was banned from entering the UK.
A UK Home Office spokesperson told the newspaper: "Border Force has the power to refuse entry to an individual if it is considered that his or her presence in the UK is not conducive to the public good."

This is an example of why "Draw Muhammad Day" should be a national holiday in every country. Of course if the Muslims objected too much it could be a "Draw any deity or religious figure that you wish to day" though that does not roll off the tongue so well.

Just think what the reaction to the Muslim equivalent of "**** Christ" if it toured Muslim museums would be.

What? Me worry?
So I guess my "Jesus can kick Mohammed's *** (with pic of donkey, of course)" is completely out of the question.

Fear definitely comes into it. The 'religion of peace' threatens people with death/violence for the smallest thing.

The UK has anti-blasphemy laws. They haven't entirely exercised religion's say in their government. This also goes back to a ruling they made, that every religion has equal status with Anglicanism in the public sphere, even if not in the divine sense. Therefore, the UK's anti-blasphemy laws protect Islam.

This is why anti-blasphemy laws are such crude things. They're always applied arbitrarily. Well besides being totally repugnant to human freedom.

Now the question is: do you acknowledge the role the UK's anti-blasphemy laws might play in such a debacle? Or is this entirely the fault of Muslims?

Did Muslims write the UK's laws? Do they enforce it's border policies? Furthermore, do you consider yourself supportive of such laws provided they protect only certain religious sects? Like, as an example: Christians?

Both. Acts of violence in response to this kind of thing would be wrong but deliberately carrying out voluntary acts with the direction intention of inspiring that violence (even if it's an abject failure) is also wrong. She was attempting to stir up trouble in the UK to support her own political preferences and self promotion. I see no problem with the UK taking steps to prevent her from trying to do it again.

Can you name any other religion where this sort of "blasphemy" would cause a government to be concerned enough about possible violence to permanently ban someone from their country over some posters or flyers? -I can't.

That didn't answer my question, and I can think of governments that do worse than forbid entry in the name of Christianity- so yes. Been to Uganda or Serbia lately?

But we aren't talking about Uganda or Serbia or Muslim majority countries and what they do, we are talking about the U.K.

The UK has no blasphemy laws, and the common law of blasphemy, was abolished in 2008.

Something is wrong with the brain of a person if ethnic discrimination is synonymous with sexual orientation.

Sounds like she was drawing blood rather than crusading an ideology. I don't give people like that the time of day. Just like all the name callers from people who hate something. The tongue is the instrument of the devil.

Oh is that right? I hadn't heard. Thanks for the clarification. Well, that does make me have to rethink.

Okay, so I've had time to process this information. What I think is- it'd still be hard to blame Muslims for what UK border authorities decide and is likely a stretch. Perhaps they decided the person had nothing of value to bring into the UK, besides more Britain First style rhetoric.

Certainty a country has the right of sovereignty to forbid entry.

Being called a racist is political death in many cases. So you don't want to be showing support for others who have been labeled racist.

You can be anti-Christian and not be labeled a racist. Anti-Muslim though, you're a racist, at least it is easy enough to imply in this political atmosphere, it's because you are a racist.

I suspect most people are a little bit biased because of our evolutionary tribal nature. That being the case, folks are fearful of having that bias exposed. So they go hardcore anti-bias to hide the truth of their feelings.

I don't think being anti-Muslim is necessarily race motivated, nor should it be a first assumption by any observing parties that it is.

Be that as it may, there are cases where being anti-Muslim has a race dimension. A Buddhist monk was attacked in Oregon for 'looking Muslim'. That shows the attacker in question automatically identified Muslims with a certain list of ethnic traits.

I see it as she was drawing attention to something that is lying just beneath the surface that many don't seem to want to acknowledge or face.

As far as the tongue being an instrument of the Devil:

Islam is not a race, all it shows is the ignorance of the attacker and it would be just as ignorant to attack Moonies, Christians, Unarians, Jews, Mormons, or anyone else because of their perceived racial traits.

After reading the article it can be concluded that this is nothing more than personal trolling so to speak. Not only illegal, but disruptive and says nothing about the objective truth that she wants to present.

"Southern says her 'social experiment' was sparked when she saw an article online saying that 'Jesus was gay."

So apparently monkey see, monkey do. So therefore if one has an affinity for Jesus and is insulted, they therefore insult a figure of the next religion. I simply question anyone's intellect if they associate sexual orientation with racism:

"This highlights a monumental double standard in Western societies, why is it racist to say Allah is gay, but not Jesus is gay?"

She is obviously young minded.

Edit: She is alt-right...never mind.
