Why the Protests in France?

Why do the elites believe that little people are just dying to be taxed more and more in order to transition to Utopia?

No. It is over cists if living increases, ONE of which is an environmental tax. It is NOT a protest against governmental response to climate change, although that is how the climate change deniers and their political allies are just dying to spin it.
No they aren't; they were merely focusing on one aspect of the protests that appeared to act as a catalyst.

A. Misrepresenting what the protests are about, and B. Only reporting on one aspect of the protest that happens to suit their agenda;

I.e. "spin"
No. The spark that caused the protests was the 'Green Tax'; people don't just randomly start protesting a ton of things out of nowhere. People started protesting over this tax, which is why it was covered so much. It's not 'spin' to cover the catalyst of a series of events; it's looking at cause and effect of group behaviour.

Let's be honest. The French people is sick and tired of the Euro and the austerity policies...
I visited Paris in 2002...I cry if I think how beautiful and wealthy Paris was back then.
the green tax is just the straw that breaks camel's back

Yes, that is ONE of the things they are protesting over. One. And it is the TAX they are protesting, NOT government response to climate change.

So not only does my earlier comment stand, but if you sincerely believe these protests are about the French government responding to climate change, then the spin is apparently working. working, as you have been mislead.

Both are true. It was, as they say, a "last straw" but the 10 tons of straw led up to that last one. People are hurting all over the place as the current system gets more and more unbalanced in favor of the rich and super rich.

In the US, our current Vice President said that everything related to Social Security "has to be on the table" - in other words cut, cut and then eliminated. And that is direct attack on me and my friends. I'd join 10,000,000 peaceful protesters in Washington DC to tell the current regime where the real power lies - with the people. But thank God we have a Democratic House in a few short weeks. The current attempt to screw me and my friends won't go anywhere except to generate even more enthusiasm to throwing them out in two years.

My understanding is that it is the middle class protesting. They are unhappy that their president has been completely ignoring them and even after protests, he still talks about other things.

Here in the U.S, the two parties have traditionally been the same -the left working for the unemployed and the homeless ONLY, and the right, traditionally working for the wealthy, specifically.

Only since Trump has taken office has any politician actually worked for the middle class (e.g. bringing jobs back home, tariffs, limiting immigration) -the largest class.

It's the working classes who are being screwed over by his EU driven views and his high taxes and dropping living standards, wages &c.
