Why Titles?

DallasApple

Depends Upon My Mood..
My "titles" express both who I am,
and who I am not,
and distance me a bit from staunch traditionalists.
(ie, pagan legalists)

I cast "spells".

I am "SOURCErer", as compared to "sorcerer".
I am "which", as compared to "witch".
I refuse to argue about the proper "spelling" of "magic(k)".
as I am a creative speller. thus "Majik".
(note also the M --capitol for a proper name)

I am deadly serious about everything,
yet, at the same time, take none of it seriously at all.

I think my titles/labels/spellings reflect all of this, and more.

Are you a witch???

Question Everything
Maybe titles are more for yourself than for others… hopefully others will think what they will of you without need for a title… my titles remind me who I should be – title of mom or wife or daughter or LDS – I know the ideals, and try to live up to the title…

title is not who you are, but instead who you are trying to be... good to change and grow and have a clear picture of where you are trying to get to and all that.

I took off the religion of Christianity and replaced it with Follower Of Y'shua(or Jesus), it is abbreviated since I couldn't fit the whole thing. I added Tiggerism, because in addition for my love of God, I also want people to know that I try very hard not to take myself too seriously(and I have always loved Tigger since I was little).
If people want to listen to me, fine. If people don't want to listen to me, that is fine, too. :)

Dallas, if you are still wondering, let me tell you something. You don't know how much happy i'm for seeing you with the title "Christian". You really have to be proud of it, because you are telling the world that Christians don't have a specific mind set, and you are defusing some stereotypes by showing how compassionate you are. If you stopped showing yourself as a Christian, then only people with extreme mentalities will dominate how we look at Christians. Got what i mean now? :)

But I go to do it.(remove the title).and I feel like Im "denying" Christ if I won't even have His name associated with me . Or that Im letting people bully me..or both....Am I being superstitious?...Opinions please..

From what I know of the Christian religion, a user title on an internet forum is pretty far down the list of things that define a person as a Christian, if it's even on the list at all.

That being said, if you want to keep it, I don't see any harm in it. Nobody will think less of you for declaring yourself to be a Christian... nobody whose opinion matters, anyhow.

I think that's an excellent solution, Christine, since the two aren't always synonymous.

I was talking to a friend tonight..( :flirt: to you by the way)...and she was like.."why a title" ..as far as religion goes..

MANY times I have wanted to take the title "Christian" of my name here..so at least I don't have to worry of pre-judments..that I wont be lumped in with people that have hurt others under the "titile"..(I could judt be me...ingognito!!!)

But I go to do it.(remove the title).and I feel like Im "denying" Christ if I won't even have His name associated with me . Or that Im letting people bully me..or both....Am I being superstitious?...Opinions please..

Also ..why do ya'll carry "tittles" if you do...

Be proud of what you are! If people want to judge let them, you don't want people like that anyway.
In Islam, it is said that one must not hide their religion to do so is a sin.
The reason I carry my title is because I am proud of my religion.
Other people can think whatever they like.

Jesus told His followers that if they were ashamed of Him now, then He would be ashamed of them in God's Kingdom. So I guess it seems it is a sin to deny who you follow in Christianity, too.
