Why were religions created & How long did the creator live until it started creating?

but we don't have enough to be able to conclude that pottery left behind suggests god worship, and we still don't know why religions and gods were created. And we still don't know why pre-historic people behaved the way they did when they left behind human heads covered in mud with the bodies missing. We don't know what that means as there are no records clarifying why they did such things.

Welcome Oswaldo! I hope you have fun debating here, but debate should only be in debate areas. This helps us keep relationships from breaking down. In the introductions area everything should be friendly and introductory, like you are having friends over. The forum rules are posted here, and if you have any problems, suggestions or questions you may make a confidential (between you and staff) thread in the section called 'Site Feedback', and a moderator or an administrator will reply.

Hey it seems like I've seen one of those pictures before.... I'm racking my brain and don't remember.

"Live" is one of the things created.

Have you investigated the works of one Marija Gimbutas? You might enjoy her material.

"The bottom line is that Religion or what we can call the “Religious
Instinct” is a very powerful mechanism inborn in the human race. We
can add that “ Religious Instinct” is a Spiritual phenomenon that has
been present in the human race from the very beginning and to date
little understood."

Seems humans have an innate NEED to be subject to a Power greater than man.
I'm not even close to being qualified to understand an innate need or a Power
greater than man.
Google this and get really confused.
As for me on a personal level I pray to a "God" who I believe is the power
greater than man.
But then again I've actually been in hell and came out to life again.
Mankind though out history, all mankind, no matter the race, or culture, has
worshiped something greater than man.
Why the monoliths on Easter island?
The great Pyramids, and on and on..................................
As for me, and this is a very personal experience; I MUST believe in a Power
greater than myself or I will surely die of alcohol addiction.
Church is for people afraid of going to hell.
Recovery is for people that have already been there.
If people do not "get" that then perhaps they haven't suffered enough.:shrug:

Have you heard the expression "There are no atheists in foxholes."
Self evident isn't it???
Ever been shot at? Ever had someone try to behead you with an ax?
Throw an infant human baby at you?
Hold a person while they died?
Watch a man blow his brains out with a shotgun?
Hold a burned infant that you cannot help?
Been addicted to drugs?
Poisoned in a chemical fire and been one of 5 out of 60 to have survived?????
I've been in hell.

How long did the Creator live before creating???
I dunno. Our Christian Bible doesn't really say.
Some suggest "God's" name is " I am that I am. "
That suggests to me that this deity has always existed.
That concept is difficult to wrap my mind around.
I have a headache.

The human population was much smaller than today back when, in your terms or perhaps common terms, “religion was created”. The populations were very small actually and we are all sort of relations to each other. But there were also visitors from other worlds during the times of small populations.

The oldest religion, in my opinion, is Hinduism even though Hinduism is a modern term. Some use older terms such as Sanatana Dharma (“Eternal Law”) and such, but even back then perhaps there was no term other than the adventure of being alive in the world.

What I find in what you call mythology is a commonality which is rather amazing. In the latest edition of Minerva magazine, MAY/JUNE 2016, page 19, is the Idol of Reshef the Phoenician Deva of Thunder. I should scan it and share, but to save time I will describe – it was one of the treasures recovered from the Sicilian Seas and is a 1000 AD circa bronze found off the coast of Sciacca.

Here is a picture of Reshef:

What do you see? Well, what I see is clearly the same Daiva, Indra, beard, holding the thunderbolt, with an Egyptian style crown, could easily be compared to Thor but clearly a thunderbolt held instead of a hammer.

I find the same pantheons again and again and again, going way back.

Now when did “religion” as in organized, begin?

My reading of scripture and visits to the world, is thousands of years ago – we were always looking up at the stars. Meteorites fell.

In some areas of the world, you can see them clearly, very clear, such as in the mountains as the Western Himalayas and Caucasus. So humans have always been much, much smarter than given credit. There were tribes who would seek where the meteor fell. Some were iron and other metals. Some were more like blackish and glassy crystal like (the corner stone in Mecca, the Moon God).

Here from this meteorite metal the first cudgels and weapons of power were made from. And Idols were made from them.

The chariots came, from these tribes later. But they had the iron weapons. Iron is our word today for Aryan. Also Iran means Aryan or Iron.

It is a long but not so far away story of religion. Before religion they came from other worlds to visit us also. And there are also demons and Rakshasas. Angels and Daivas and Devas and Devi. Many. But it is not the Gods Who are the “end game”. The end game is the experience. When there were few of us, a long time ago, we became smarter in our ways. The first City was made. It was near a great river – and was called Kashi the City of Light. Walls, and society had types, there was the priests, and the Kings and warriors, and the farmers and the workers. Here we learned to grow grains and store grains – we learned this from them and as well from our own savants. The Idols that were made from meteorites were establish inside the City walls. Later, they were mass produced for the common people, sometimes in clay or bronze. Mother Goddess was in every home. Ephesus. Annapurna.

Annapurna is the Queen of Kashi. Shiva as Vishveshvara (Lord of the Universe) is the King. But also Ruler FROM the Universe. Annapurna is the Goddess of Grains – a manifestation of Parvati the Great Mother.

That was the beginning of “religion”. When we humans built the first City. Nothing so much is created. It is all over the place, but “form shifted”. Then when we made the first Metropolis, our populations grew. We went about. Far. We will go into space, also. We will bring the dog with us. We have been with the dog for 40,000 years. Now we are together, the dog will travel the universe with us. Next to Bhairava is the Dog.

Note sure about those, but I believe God send religion to have laws humans can use to live. Kind of like the secular laws humans managed to come up with to run their lives. Life is like a computer, it requires an operating system to run. Religion is an operating system to human life.

That's what I believe.

And welcome aboard :D

WHY did the ancient people come up with their own different mythological and religious stories and urge for submission to invisible beings or gods & labeled nature god, instead of solely teaching the generations about survival technics? How long did the creator live until it started creating?

Hard to answer, any answers will be just kind of a guess and philosophical ones.

Is say the whole God worship came thru contemplation of the heavens...which I'm sure thousands of years ago at night were very very visible...

Oh and seeing how there was day and night..I'm sure they were half time survivors and half time "philosophers"....
At least the insomniac.

In my opinion they were created to manipulate and control the masses, just imagine if they took religion away from the masses today, they would go of their heads........very sad indeed.
