I believe you should not hold me in suspense but tell me what it is.
First you have to describe your definition of essence, lest we go off in different directions.
What I consider the essence of Hinduism is as this quote says:
"
The essence of Hinduism it that it is a way of life. It says you are owner of your life and responsible for all your deeds. There is no religious leader and no need to have a religious leader. Hinduism says there is all knowledge in your soul, explore it and lead yourself."
Moreover, it is pantheistic as well as panentheistic... all is God, and all is in God. God is immanent and transcendent. Several schools of Hindu philosophy state we are parts of the whole, like the heat and light of the sun; the waves of the ocean; separate yet part of; not one, yet not two. Further, Hinduism encourages us to ponder existence and our relationships with God, the universe and each other. It doesn't believe there is only "one way" to reach God, or have a concept of judgement. God is there for the taking; rather, God is within us and is never
not within or with us. There's just no way to get away from God, only the possibility of not seeing God in all.
