Depends on the tradition you're affiliated with. Some traditions, particularly those with ties to Traditional Wicca (e.g., covens that can be traced back to Gerald Gardner and require initiation into the tradition), probably do not work with pantheons. Other traditions have no such prohibitions and those who are not affiliated with a specific tradition can essentially do what they will.

As for fluffy bunnyism, apply it to whoever you want if you disagree with their practice and think it's stupid. That's basically how people use it: as a put-down and a slur.

All Wicca is like what? Can you be more specific?

I'm going to assume you ran into what can be called "hard Gards," or individuals who think that any Wiccan tradition that isn't strongly rooted in Gardnerian traditionalism (e.g., British Traditional Wicca) is "invalid" or not "real" Wicca. While I respect their desire to keep to tradition, I think their put-downs of progressive forms of Wicca is unnecessary. So long as you understand there is a difference between the more traditional forms of Wicca and the progressive forms, I'm happy.

Fundamentalists exist in all religious paths. It surprised me at first when I ran into it among contemporary Pagans. The free spirited, independent nature of the movement had initially led me to believe such fundamentalism couldn't possibly exist in our community. I was wrong.

I've had a number of discussions with Hard Gards in the past; enough to value their perspective and see they make a point. The trouble is they ignore certain aspects of the history of Wicca - particularly what happened to it once it came to the United States - and they deny that religions can evolve over time. If you're interested in the history of Wicca in the United States specifically, the best book to read on that is this one by scholar Chas Clifton. Hutton's book covers similar territory only focuses mostly on the UK and is a more difficult read because of his writing style.

You really should take a look at that link you were linked to earlier. No, no you can not worship any pantheon you want and still call it Wicca. Wicca is an orthopraxic religion, which means there is a right way and then there is everything else.

Well that might very well be true for Wicca, in terms of Gardnerianism, as they are the originators of that term. So I say let it go and just call yourself a witch or pagan, as I always thought Wicca was a dumb name anyway..

I was trained in a coven of Alexandrian extraction that used a pantheon, although they would always pair up a different set for each holiday to be called down upon the priest and priestess in line with the dualistic focus of Wiccan ritual. Although in practice, much like in ATRs, other gods could begin to show during the ceremonies. Here we can start to see a progression away from the model informed by study and inspiration from the spirits.

I have to say I have always regarded the obsession with dualism, along with traditions of of being "sky-clad", and the use of the flail or flogger as a ritual implement in initiations as all having to do with Gardner's personal sexual obsessions and subsequent reactions to the post-Victorian culture in which he and the initial generation of Wiccans was raised.

You'll come across those who like to say their way is the only "correct" way.. But really what they think doesn't matter, it's what you think and what works for you. If you want to be an eclectic Wiccan, by all means, do it and don't let anyone stop you.
