Will any more 'Major' religions emerge?

Scientific materialism blended with some kind of mystic ideology will probably be the next dominant religion. If you see scientific materialism as a religion then it seems pretty obvious as you are using a computer right now that it is The dominating force to be contended with. If you happened to be Amish or the member of some tribe then this would be a false assumption.

Given that man has been around for at least 2-3 million years, and homo-sapien himself for around 200,000 years, then ALL current major religions are extremely new. Given that, do you think there will be any more emerging?

Yes.

If we come into contact with aliens, and they have their own religion, I could see that religion becoming established here.

Apart from that, many people consider atheism to be a religion in it's own right (I do not). If you wish to include atheism in your considerations, I can only see the amount of atheists, both weak and strong, getting bigger as we advance scientifically and technologically, and the world becomes more unified.
