Will the Worldwide Epidemic of Violence Against Women and Children Ever Get Much Better?

I could give my dog the key to my car. He still wouldn't drive himself to the dog park.

Do you have any examples of Fox News doing this?....

I often hear the insult "Go watch your Fox News koolaid!". They're the same people who say that Fox News is racist, but then have no examples to show me to prove that.

And PS, I don't watch Fox News.

Good for you! Don't start doing that, or smoking crack, or molesting children, and you'll already be ahead of the game.

No one ever gives me a good argument, or any argument, against Fox News. Why is that?

I never give my dog my credit card either. And he doesn't even complain about it.

Read my posts about five to seven scientific studies. You can google those studies if you like. They are evidence against Fox News. Evidence you would prefer to dismiss.

Google is a liberal conspiracy! You can't believe anything you read on the Google.

Well every news channel is biased in some way. You can't just say it's Fox.

And besides, it's hard to get a real source of anything. How can we know what countrys leader actually did what? They're saying Assad, Gadaffi, and Mubarak killed protestors, but where's the evidence? At least for Saddam, there was proof that he was gassing people. We can't know what's really going on unless we see it, or if we're there. We're all misinformed in some way.

Edit: PS, I would like to see the exam and the articles, if anyone would want to link them to me.

As I understand it, nearly everywhere you go in the world, violence against women and children is common. No nation or society seems immune to it. I'm curious about your opinions as to whether that will ever get much better, or whether violence against women and children is so much a part of human nature that it can never be much less than it is? What, if anything, would bring about a lessening of it?

You might be able to improve what goes on in western countries one day, but it still goes on in native and third world countries. I recently found out how they treat women in papa new guinea which I had noooo idea about and it was truly appalling. You can't really go into other countries and tell them well this is how we think you should do it so do it.

The people in these countries need to take control in some way. What that way should be...I am not really sure. Raise awareness, increase rights etc but as long as it is socially acceptable for these things to happen it will never change.

Why do you suppose it's socially acceptable?

Because it has always had a place in the culture. We still fight this in western society, so how can we expect it to change in countries where they have practiced the same way for as long as recorded?

Yeah...I used to live there, and always found that aspect pretty hard to deal with.

Thing is, there are plenty of countries around the world struggling with basic education and health. Social awareness programs come way down the list.

(not defending that, I'm just saying that it's true in my experience)

The biggest program of social awareness I saw whilst in PNG related to chewing gum rather than betal nut. And I'm pretty sure that only got coverage because someone like Wrigleys was sponsoring it.

I think it's fair to say PNG will trail behind the rest of the world when it comes to women's rights, because they are starting with ideas discarded in much of the world around the 1300's. So if it's taken us 800 years to get here...well, hopefully they can make the journey quicker than we did...
