Wars are 100% over resources. About taking possessions of resources.
Lenin was funded by Rockfeller...and after coming to power, he gave him the oilfields in Baku.
Why did the Nazis want to take Soviet Union? Because of the oilfields in Baku.

Well, the oilfields plus all the other resources Russia had. The rich farmland of Ukraine also figured prominently in the Germans' plans, as they needed farmland, too.

Still, it's a lot less costly for nations to cooperate and trade for resources, rather than going to war.

Back in 1917, the U.S. didn't need oilfields in Baku. The U.S. was the world's largest supplier of oil during WW2.

Still, if Rockefeller or anyone else in the U.S. felt they needed the Baku oilfields, they would have had a much better chance of accomplishing that by supporting and funding Kerensky's regime. The Western Allies in WW1 really dropped the ball by failing to give Kerensky's fragile democratic regime any real support.

The ironic thing is that all it would have taken was a simple public declaration that the Allies would accept peace without annexations or indemnities. Because Britain and France refused to make such a statement, it undermined the prestige and confidence in the moderate Kerensky government, further weakening their already precarious position in Russia. (One of my Russian history professors actually knew Kerensky and collaborated with him on a three-volume work on the Provisional Government.)

While I can understand that they wanted resources, they still would have gotten more flies with honey than vinegar.

Why do these elites want to defeat Putin? To seize the boundless raw materials Russia has.

Well, they could trade for those resources, just as they do with other nations around the world.

25% and you brought Russia into it,
No. 25% of Russia is in Europe but Russia makes up 40% of the total area of Europe.
"European Russia occupies almost 40% of the total area of Europe."
Map of European Russia - Nations Online Project.
You stated that Europeans were for democracy. I simply pointed out, quite correctly, that Russia is part of Europe. That is correct regardless of how much of Europe is Russia. And, again, it makes up almost 40% of Europe. That is factually correct.

So do you think the Russians are for democracy? Or would you prefer to modify your original post to applying to only Western Europe?

Due to the undoing war in the Ukraine and associated shortages of energy and food supplies the coming winter in Europe portends to be difficult. If you live in Europe are you making special preparations for the coming winter?

Russian propaganda claims another victim
I can feel the pain of millions of Europeans complaining about the natural gas shortage, because of this war.
I exclusively side with the people who need to have a normal life, not with the elites who can afford expensive bills.

Out of curiosity, what is your reasoning here?
The European Union is not led by the single member states (the heads of Government of the several member states). It is led by the Troika, which is a triple body formed by the IMF (the head), the ECB, and the European Commission (the enforcer of the first two). It is the most undemocratic machine that has ever been created in the history of Europe.
Only Putin stands up to this dreadful entity.

We got through COVID we will get through this. Governments can't fully cushion against all the pain. If they print money they will get elected but it will cause hardship down the line.

Just wow. I am certainly not wrong. Russia IS in Europe. Just as France and Denmark are in Europe. In case you didn't know it parts of France and Denmark aren't in Europe either. Not only am I not wrong but you are displaying a terrible knowledge of geography.

Furthermore you still haven't answered the question. Do you think Russia is a democracy?

Part of Russia, as i said [about] 25% is on the European continent, the remaining 75% is on the Asian continent.

Grey = Europe - Red = Asia

So yes, you are very wrong.

According to the Russian constitution, yes Russia is a democracy.

And did you ask such a stupid question?

What I've heard, and I'd like confirmation from our european friends, is that their governments actually tell them that trouble is coming down the pike, and tell them to save food etc. If true, this is in stark contrast to how it is in the states, where as far as I can tell, they don't tell us to be prepared.
