I think the key to this is the term "Marxist-intersectional", in the thread title. I had to look the latter word up. It seems to have a specialised meaning, in the context of leftwing politics, viz. an obscure, deeply right-on and ghastly-sounding form of extreme identity/grievance politics: Intersectionality - WikipediaDoes watching @Mindmaster thrash his silly strawman (which hardly represents the average liberal, here or elsewhere) give you a tingle and make the blood rush a little? Perhaps the two of you might have a "Lady and the Tramp" moment, but instead of spaghetti it's Trump's boot.
Does this look fictional to you?I suppose if I had to constantly fight off waves of fictional attacks by imaginary Marxists, I'd feel pretty miserable too.
No, he has a habit of taking the more extreme, fringe examples and then paints the entirety of the left with one broad brush stroke.I think the key to this is the term "Marxist-intersectional", in the thread title. On that very narrow basis I sympathise with the sentiments expressed. However it seems to me to have little to do with leftwing politics in general, so I do not take the OP to be a broad-based attack on left wing ideas or people.

I could just as easily cherry pick some right-wing kooks, present them to you, and then ask you to explain yourself.
What would be the value in that, though? The point being made is that cherry-picking kooks proves nothing and is a waste of everyone's time.Sure. Be my guest and cherry pick away. It's a debate thread.
Ah, I see. So this would, in that case, be hunting about for obscure and extreme Aunt Sallys to attack, I suppose, in the hope of suckering some respondents into defending it, without realising what it is they are defending. No, he has a habit of taking the more extreme, fringe examples and then paints the entirety of the left with one broad brush stroke.
Well at least it would be some recompense in saying that she's being acknowledged as a kook. What would be the value in that, though? The point being made is that cherry-picking kooks proves nothing and is a waste of everyone's time.
I don't know the ins and outs of these people, but if she's had anything to do with getting Deepak Chopra involved, then kookdom certainly would seem to beckon.Well at least it would be some recompense in saying that she's being acknowledged as a kook.
So an activist explaining herself and her work is an example of... let me check..."this woke world where everyone is constantly flaming each other for racism, fascism, and whatever and trying to cancel everyone out before they too get canceled out"?Does this look fictional to you?
Which of the things she said in the video do you find 'kooky'?Well at least it would be some recompense in saying that she's being acknowledged as a kook.
You didn't watch it, or you're just pretending to be stupidly ignorant to the fact that she's a self-admitted Marxist. So an activist explaining herself and her work is an example of... let me check..."this woke world where everyone is constantly flaming each other for racism, fascism, and whatever and trying to cancel everyone out before they too get canceled out"?
She is not "flaming" or attacking anybody in the video. She is not being racist.
Is this a mix up? Did you mean to post an entirely different video about an entirely different person who was actually "flaming" or attacking people in a racist manner?
Which of the things she said in the video do you find 'kooky'?
Do you read it as a racist attack when somebody tells you they're a Marxist? You didn't watch it, or you're just pretending to be stupidly ignorant to the fact that she's a self-admitted Marxist..
No. I read it as a Marxist pretending it's only a racist issue.Do you read it as a racist attack when somebody tells you they're a Marxist?
You don't think a Marxist can be opposed to racism? Why not?No. I read it as a Marxist pretending it's only a racist issue.
Because the race issue isn't what bothers me. Being a promoter of Marxism does. You don't think a Marxist can be opposed to racism? Why not?
Have you supported BLM before you heard that one of the organizers was a Marxist?Because the race issue isn't what bothers me. Being a promoter of Marxism does.
Years ago, I thought Marx and Left in general were about christian ideas of compassion and love.reason for rejection of leftist ideas
Sure. Be my guest and cherry pick away. It's a debate thread.
