This does raise a point. Some people tend to assume the only ones interested in protecting the rights and liberty of LGBT people are themselves LGBT. The concept of looking out for anyone other than their own is foreign to them. The murder victim was heterosexual. Not that that is relevant.
I know! Such a crazy notion. This does raise a point. Some people tend to assume the only ones interested in protecting the rights and liberty of LGBT people are LGBT themselves. The concept of looking out for anyone other than their own is foreign to them.
The gunman at least save the taxpayers the cost of a trial and lifetime of incarceration. He was still armed and the police had to shoot him when they found him.Paywall, but from what I read, the store owner sounded like a strong, courageous person. I couldn't get to the details but I suspect the gunman had neither of those qualities.
THIS IS THE REASON LGBTQ+ FOLKS HAVE EVERY RIGHT TO BE PROUD!
Oh, good grief. Next you will be telling me to not vacation in Florida."The attack comes as LGBTQ+ people and their supporters have faced threats and acts of violence alongside “an unprecedented wave of anti-LGBTQ+ legislation in 2023,” according to the Human Rights Campaign.
“LGBTQ+ Americans are living in a state of emergency. The multiplying threats facing millions in our community are not just perceived – they are real, tangible and dangerous,” the group’s president, Kelley Robinson, said in June when it declared a national state of emergency for the community."
How about the Department of Homeland Security?Sorry. Not buying into it. I simply don't trust a thing coming from GLAAD, for example.

So are you implying that all of the statistics, media reports, etc. are fabricated? Why? Because they conflict with some narrative that you've decided to double down on?Sorry. Not buying into it. I simply don't trust a thing coming from GLAAD, for example.
I have not trusted the media narrative(s) for a very long time.So are you implying that all of the statistics, media reports, etc. are fabricated?
Because they have consistently shown themselves to be unworthy of trust by the public. Why?
Nope. But, I do know when something smells...Because they conflict with some narrative that you've decided to double down on?
Don't vacation in Florida.Oh, good grief. Next you will be telling me to not vacation in Florida.
I don't know. I just saw a very powerful argument that tells me otherwise:Don't vacation in Florida.
Who do you consider trustworthy?I have not trusted the media narrative(s) for a very long time.
Because they have consistently shown themselves to be unworthy of trust by the public.
Nope. But, I do know when something smells...
Not a lot of people nowadays, frankly.Who do you consider trustworthy?
Do you trust yourself? Not a lot of people nowadays, frankly.
To a degree, yes. I do understand that I am an extremist, and so I will often add "Does that make sense?" to a post.Do you trust yourself?
Not a lot of people nowadays, frankly.
I'll add it to the list. There's your problem
