Must be new wellness fad. I never had honey in the sauna and never heard about it until now. I know that honey is mildly astringent, anti-bacterial and anti-fungal and was used in the past on rashes, bruises and small wounds.

About Germany: My impression is that Germans are embarrassed about being embarrassed. Being shocked by nudity is embarrassing to a German.

Personally I consider that to be an ideal for humans. Why should our natural state be shocking and embarrassing? It's just a human body. We've all got one.
