Women of Bhakti trailer

Women of Bhakti official trailer - YouTube

This looks like an ISKCON-inspired film, since it features Gaura Vani (the kirtaniya), Yamunadevi dasi, and Radhanath Swami, a guru from ISKCON.

Whatever the case, I feel like it will be super wonderful to watch it, especially at a woman's perspective!

I'm certainly excited! :bounce

I get the feeling that the short film is purely based on ISKCON.

While it is always really nice to see those devoted, regardless of a sect- it would have been nice to see those from various sampradaya. Nothing at all against the previous mentioned one.

Does anyone have any religious documentaries or lectures, especially those that can be found on YouTube?

I found one lecture that I really like, I will try and pull it up later and share the link here.

Did not like. -1000/10. How denigrating it is in regards to Shivji; I could not watch further to find out what he would say about Amma. I need not listen to people who denigrate my Mata ji.

Oh dear, what did it say about Lord Siva?

I wouldn't call it 'denigrating'. He is just speaking from Vaishnav POV, where Narayana is supreme and Lord Shiva is His devotee. In fact, this (being a devotee) is the highest position that can be given to personality in the Vaishnavism.

It is an interesting interpretation of Pancopasana (worship of the 5 deities), in which there are various levels and one moves up worshipping various deities who represent different tattvas until one worships Parabrahman as Narayana. Sorta of like an evolution of worship.

I do not wish to cause offense, my friend. I am pulling the video.

Pls forgive

Oh @Maija, please do not feel that I am offended with you. I am simply offended - and rightfully so, I believe - that we devotees of Shiva and Shakti ma are denigrated as being 'lower' and 'lesser' devotees, not to mention that Shiva and Shakti are reduced to deities that only materialistic folk are drawn to.

For instance I was reading a book the other day about Krishna and in the same sentence glorifying Krishna they cast Durga Ma as a deity that only those seeking magical powers worship. I do not worship Ma for any magic, I worship Her because She is Jagadambe, Jaganmata, MahaShakti. She is everything. The same goes for Shiva.

I hear you.

Thank you for your patience & kindheartedness. Your love for Durga Ma is as mine for Krishna, same. It is a pure, sweet love & bhakti, pure prem, so inspiring.

I understand now how his words are offensive.
