Women rape men as well.

It's a sad part of our culture that this fact gets overlooked. So much focus is on the evil men that treat women like prey. The men who have been violated by women are sadly overlooked. I say this as a rape victim myself. I was raped by a woman while I was drunk. I actually take responsibility for the fact that I should not have been drinking and that alcohol was certainly a factor

I'm sorry you were raped. Whether or not you should have been drunk, and whether or not you made bad decisions in no way excuses that.
Male rape of other males is also overlooked, and under-reported.
As is rape of women.

It is something we are not good at dealing with, as a society, it seems to me.

So sorry you had to go thru such an experience. God bless.

In your opinion, and normally by comparison, is the impact on men getting raped by women the same as the impact on women getting raped by men?

I should also say there's a time and a place for dealing with the victims irresponsibility when it involves alcohol or flirting. While they're just getting over the crime probably isn't the best time to bring it up. But eventually they'll have to deal with the fact that if they'd made different choices the crime probably wouldnve happened

I didn't have post traumatic stress syndrome or anything but I felt used and taken advantage of. Even though I did enjoy it while it was happening

Maybe. I didn't wake up in the middle of the night with panic attacks though which is what I imagine ptsd to be like. But yes it bothers me to this day
Yes, I was shot once, and I did wake up in a ball of sweat, but because I am also schizophrenic, my medication helps me to sleep, I was also raped once by two men, that hasn't really over ride the pain I felt through being shot.

Thank you for sharing.

Does this imply an opinion in how men and women react to rape and sexual harassment?

Sorry for asking so many questions. I started threads about this looking for such information. Here are they, if you're interested:

I can't speak for all rape victims but you have two guys that have been raped in this thread that basically said it wasn't the worst thing that ever happened to them. The women I usually hear seem a lot more torn up about it imo. Fwiw I actually find myself strangely turned on when I'm sexually harassed by a woman.

I'm sorry, Peacemaker. None of this was your doing. Surviving rape is one hell of a journey and has far reaching personal hurdles that run deeper than we can imagine.

I wish you well on your journey. ❤️

Sorry to hear that this happened to you. I hope your recovery from it has been going well.

Many people just don't understand that men also get raped. There's this idea that men are the "stronger" gender, for example, and are therefore immune to being raped by women or even fellow men. It's a dangerous idea that needs to die if an real progress is to be made to combat rape in general and male rape in particular.

Do you think it would have left you with an entirely different impression if you had been raped by another man?

I had a lot more difficulty with my rape experience because I was a child at the time. There was no conscious or subconscious desire for the sexual act to happen.
