...Know ye that the embodiment of liberty and its symbol is the animal. That which beseemeth man is submission unto such restraints as will protect him from his own ignorance and guard him against the harm of the mischief-maker. Liberty cause the man to overstep the bounds of propriety and to infringe on the dignity of his station...
...The liberty that profiteth you is o to be found nowhere except in complete servitude until god, the eternal truth. Whoso hath tasted of its sweetness will refuse to barter it for all the dominions of the earth and heaven.
~Writings of Baha'u'llah
Two men met each other on the road; and, each of them had a donkey. Then the men greeted each other: the donkeys also, putting their mouths together, sniffed at each other. And the one man asked his his fellow, saying: "We have greeted each other. Why have the donkeys also put their heads together?" The other man answered him, "do you not know this? The donkeys have sent a strong donkey to the Lord to enter their plaint before him, that is to say that the Lord should free them from the tyranny turned or not?" and it is said that all donkey as ask each other about this matter by putting their mouths together. By this tale it is seen that every creature longs for liberty.
~Mensa Tribal Tale (West Africa)
Now the Lord is that Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord

Martin Luther King, Jr.m a strong man, called upon us to fulfill our commitment to liberty for all. This was his dream, his vision. In order to "proclaim liberty throughout the land to all its inhabits" (as the Bible tells it), Dr. King had first to set his mind free of slavish thoughts and attitudes. Proclaim your liberty today from the particular chains that hold you in bondage. Proclaim liberty in your soul.
