Creationists have been shutdown in the US everytime they have tried to invade the public domain. They do not and will not teach creationism in public schools until they act like scientists. So it will never happen
That's not entirely true. So far, they seem to have been shut down every time (I think), but with added pressure, it's not inconceivable that they will gain the ability to teach their belief in classrooms.
By the way, I thought of a good analogy for the view that scientists suppress disputes with evolution.
It's like a book discussion. Say a group gets together to discuss Crime and Punishment. There are some facts that are givens, like the book exists, the characters in it exist, and the basic storyline exists. Those aren't really disputable. The group has topics to discuss like the meaning of certain passages or actions, and why certain characters did certain things. If someone wants to join the group to discuss those topics, they're more than welcome to. If someone comes in saying "This book is stupid because no one can go on a killing spree and get away with it!", they won't be taken seriously, and they'll be dismissed as soon as possible (since that's a bad mischaracterization of the events in the book).
The same holds true for evolution. If someone comes in and debates certain details of the theory, that's fine, but when someone comes in and says "It's all BS; evolution is a myth because dogs can't become cats", they're rightly laughed out of the room by real scientists.
