Any other fans out there?
They're currently in preliminaries in Malaysia.
I find their feats stunning.
And for Game Of Thrones fans, The Mountain (Hafthor Bjornsson) is doing very well.

I find it strangely fitting that a ludicrous majority of the top 5 in these competitions are, without fail, Germanic. With special note that even within the 'Germanic group' there's far & away more Scandinavians/North-Germanics. With names like "Magnus ver Magnusson". Which I should mention literally means "Strongman son of Strongman". In fact, there's a stupid number of them all named 'Magnus' something.

If you name yer kid "Magnus" or "Hafthor", what's he gonna do.....become a skinny little crybaby?
No, such names instill aspirations to be strong!
We also notice that none of the competitors are named "Percy", "Hollingsworth", "Pansy" or "Berford".

Looking at the contestants, there is a Terry, an Eddie, an Adam, a Josh, Alexander, Jerry, Jean-Francious, Graham, Rafal, Mikhail, Benedikt, and, my favorite, Ole Martin.

That could have easily been the guess list of a yacht party off of Ft. Lauderdale.

Pish posh!
"Mikhail" & "Ole" as yachting names?

You're just lucky I don't know any clean "Lena & Ole" jokes!

They wouldn't let me enter.... I call it BEAR DISCRIMINATION and URSIDAE INTOLLERANCE… but they said something about having an unfair advantage...

HUGE and I bet he's a Viking Warrior.

Icelandic. Look at how he dwarfs Lena Headey.

Magnus Samuelsson, from Sweden, coined the phrase "Viking power!" (vikingr kraftr in Old Norse) when he was competing.

Yes, but I haven't followed it recently. There's a new generation of athletes I have to get up to speed with. I'm from the days of Kevin Nee, Derek Poundstone, Mariusz Pudzianowski ...

I went to high school with a guy who competed in this in the 80s. I was gonna slap him around, but I'm a peaceful man.

Has Pudzianowski been out of it that long now?
He was one of the few lightweights (under 300 lbs) to dominate.
