Worried, Reds?

Now that Man City are the planet's richest football club it can't be long 'til they buy the title. I know you Reds must be anxious, but I live for the day that City take the title from you. :D

Is the level of foreign investment and ownership good for the Premiership?

Will Manchester City be European champions some day soon?

Will it be the death of Fergie?

The english premier league is hardly english aside from the fact its played in England. They need to slow down the flow of replacing locals with internationals. The english premier league is the bastion of English football, i think the foreign investment and talent is having impacts on the England national team as they didnt even qualify for Euro2008 and have not played well in the last world cups/qualifying.

Man City is on the rise, i'd like to see some more competition for the top 4, Liverpool, Man U, Arsenal and Chealsea need to be challenged.

I'm not that worried. As nuaeman said, they can buy everyone they want, but it doesn't make them a good team. That takes time and more than just good players. A perfect example of this is right here in America with the New York Yankees. For years, they've been by far the richest team in baseball, and bought all of the best players. Yet, they haven't gotten close to a championship for many years now.

As long as we have Fergie, I'm not worried. Once he's gone, things should still be fine, but it's a little more iffy. Plus, we aren't just a collection of great players, we're a team. Most of our players were not huge signings of superstars, but players who became great with the club.

Go away out of that. For example - United payed £31 million for Rooney when he was only eighteen.

He's an old fella, entitled to a bus pass, the club owes millions thanks to funding it's own buyout.
I'm happy you're not worried :)

I didn't say there weren't big signings. It's just a small part of them. Most of the players were huge signings.

He might be old, but he obviously still has his wits about him. He still knows how to manage a club. There are troubles, obviously, but we're still in good shape.

Anyway, this is nothing more than vain hope from a jealous Liverpool/Sunderland fan (who can't even decide on a favorite team). :p

Ha! I thought you'd never rise to the bait.
Sunderland are my favourite. But at the sharp end it's Liverpool - Keep an eye out, you'll see them up ahead of you at the end of the year!

So, what you're saying is you're not really a dedicated fan. You're a sellout. You like Sunderland, but since they are not very good, you latch onto Liverpool because at least they have a chance to be near the top. Once Man U beats Chopped Liver this weekend, it will be set up nicely with the Reds at the top.

I think in Hughes they have a good manager who must've picked up a thing or two from Sir Alex - he spent several years playing under him.

Yes there are! United!
Although I admittedly cannot wait for the day that United are once again second fiddle to Liverpool, I know it lingers for me in the near future. The added possibility of City being Manchester's strongest club tickles my fancy too. :D

Fergie has a habit of securing the clubs future. There are players with explosive talent in Man Utd. They will flourish in the future, Liverpool are a team that look to the short-term.
