Worshiping Dharma itself: possible or misguided?

To add a twist:
Dharma refers to the basic nature of a thing, its essential truth.... so it actually refers to atman or indwelling divinity. Even in Buddhism we have triple refuge as:
Buddha (buddhi or individual)
Sangha (society or world)
Dharma (God)

The buddhist monk/nun robe which is made to resemble a rice field is the symbol of Dharma, the all pervading divine (buddha-nature)... or as the Isavasya Upanishad says: "All this is enveloped by the Supreme Being."
So as axlyz stated... Dharma or right conduct is worship itself, being inline with God/truth.

Be your own guru
I bow to my Guru, Gautama, the Buddha; the ninth avatara of Lord Vishnu. He had come to turn the wheel of 'dharma'.

Hello,

I reproduce here my understanding of the topic, that I have heard from elevated saints.

Religion means a system of faith, or worship. In general, people use Dharma and religion interchangeably. This is so because there is no suitable English word for Dharma, which comes from the Indian philosophy, also known as darśan śāstra.

Very briefly, dharma is ten-fold:

Brahmachāryā – Celibacy.
Satya – Truth.
Tapasyā – Penance.
Dān – Donation.
Niyam – Regulation.
Kṣamā – Forgiveness.
Ahiṁsā – Non-violence.
Śānti – Tranquillity.
Vidyā – Knowledge.
Asteya – Refraining from thefts.

In today's society, all kinds of heinous activities are happening for sense gratification. But anybody who practices dharma cannot harm anybody. Dharma unites and does not divide. It exists for the satisfaction of the Supreme Lord, the Supreme Father.

Finally, the highest dharma, the highest religion, is to love all.
