Worst Morning Ever

Okay... maybe it actually could have been worse... but oh my goodness, it was annoying!

I got woken up at 2am this morning to the sound of a car alarm. I woke up thinking Great, someone's stupid car alarm is going off... now I'm never going back to sleep!

Well, after laying in my bed for a another minute or so, I realized that the car sounded oddly familiar. Yup... it just so happens that the car alarm was my own! I went downstairs to grab my keys and saw a security guard standing outside my front door. I open the door to let him know I am grabbing my keys to shut the alarm off. I grabbed my keys, went outside and realized that not only was my car alarm going off, but my trunk was also wide open. So... of course... this got me thinking that maybe someone had seriously tried to get into my car.

Anyway... after fiddling with my car keys and trying to shut the alarm off, it wouldn't. I decided to turn the car on and see if that shut it off... It did... but when I went to shut the car back off, the alarm started again. After about 30 minutes, another security guard showed up to help me. He disabled the alarm by turning my key once, waiting 30 seconds, turning it back and waiting 10, and then taking the keys out. Thank the Lord that this Heavenly being came to my rescue! :angel2:

After the Security guards left, I went back into the house to go back to sleep, since I didn't have to be up for another 2 hours. After an hour of tossing an turning, my car alarm started going off AGAIN. I went outside to disable the alarm, which thankfully worked. I went back into the house and saw that my husband was searching for his keys. He figured that maybe his were pressed up against something and causing the panic button to go off.

But oh my goodness... just GUESS where his keys were? IN THE DRYER! :thud:No wonder the alarm kept going off... the key was messed up after being washed and dried! LOL

So... after taking the battery out of the key, it was fine... Poor neighbors! :cover: I feel so bad!

So, question for you guys... what was one of your most annoying mornings?

Wow, I bet that was annoying.

Car alarms used to go off at all times of the night for some reason at my old apartment. There was once when an alarm kept going for what seemed like forever, I didn't sleep very well that night.

Car alarms are usually set too sensitively. I set them off sometimes just parking my bike next an alarmed car.

On the other hand, If I wanted to break into your car, setting the alarm off repeatedly in the middle of the night might be a good way to get you to disable it.

Sounds horrible.
My advice is to get a car so unwanted that an alarm is unnecessary:
AMC Gremlin
AMC Pacer
Dodge Dart
Or, if you want less of a fashion statement & but a reliable car:
Pre 1995 Toyota Camry

I drive a Batmobile, but I don't need an alarm cuz it's a rural area. Plus, it's a Batmobile.
