Would God punish his servants?

Louisiana floods destroy home of Christian leader who blamed natural disasters on gay people

Why would God punish his own with the same type of punishment that this Christian leader predicted against homosexuals? One is a servant while the other is a sinner.
Because this Christian "leader" is a little bit off-kilter with his views, to put it politely. And yes, the God of Abraham is rather well-known for punishing His servants when they stray--exhibit A, Israel. Exhibit B, every follower of this God ever.

I am exceedingly happy to see karma and poetic justice at work concerning that guy. However, my condolences to those who have lost life and lodging in the flood.

I'm not understanding how we came to the conclusion that this leader did something wrong in the eye of God.

Could you step me through this?

So if we have to repent?

How then does gays repent to not be sinners?
Accept that Jesus Christ is the Son of God who died on the Cross for their sins and not sin again. If they do not want a relationship with a female then they can only be friends with males, not marry them.

What if a gay man marries a woman, does everything a straight man does in his life like raising a family. But he cannot shake his sexual orientation. He still desires other men and possibly fall secretly in love with other men?

He mistakenly said that God uses natural disasters to punish gays (even though it is by no means just gays who get affected by natural disasters).

Matthew 5:45: for He causes His sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.

He had gay thoughts. He won't admit it directly but that certainly is implied!! That way he could tell the truth while pointing at someone else. But we all know now he had gay thoughts!!!!and maybe even had little public bathroom fun even is my emperical"theory. The evidence points to that!!!!! Ok early science but fun!!!!

THAT Christian leader was NO Christian leader.
He's a bigot hiding behind God and the Bible.
Lost of them out there.
They are best ignored.
Giving them what they deserve would be illegal and carry prison time!
grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Who knows anymore. God is just very confusing and manipulative.

No I don't think that ^^ at all.
I think the way people interpret Scripture and God is to blame.
Opinions are only opinions worth nothing.
Back up statements with sources might add some credibility to
a mere opinion.

But then Priestess of Lucifer is off with Lilith someplace.

I don't think we can blame God for this - it's an inevitable result of his upbringing in an era and cultural background in which it was not only permissible to punish one's servants but entirely expected that you would...

I honestly do not understand how you and others are coming to this conclusion that that man was not a Christian. He is a leader of a Christian organization. I have to assume other Christians have accepted him as a leader and, therefore, also a Christian.

People like to blame things on God that are not God's fault. If someone smokes cigarettes and gets cancer they may said God punished them. But they did it to themselves. Secondly, many people pretend to be Christian or actually think they are Christian when they are not. Anyone who is a true
christian will not be a bigot or trouble maker. Just because he works in a church or other people have good thoughts about him does not make ghim a Christian.

You have not seen anything yet.

Wait for Trump to reverse what Obama has just allowed to happen to Israel. Then this September 23rd, Trump calls himself God and gets welcomed into Israel as their AntiChrist.

Then Emporer Trump opens up the new Temple Mount and angers the real God that exists beyond the Universe.

Its going to be popcorn days then, watching the fun on TV.

Then that would be adultery and fornication outside the legitimate marriage. That would be failing in his faith and returning to sin again.

Spirits need to start fresh lives and throw away the baggage from previous lives. I have seen it happen where a family has 3 children. The first child was a male who was gay and the following 2 children were twin girls who were tomboys.

Think about it, the first family spirit was female that jumped the queue and entered into a male fetus. The following 2 spirits were both male who entered female babies. Some spirits just cannot wait to be born again because they know what hell is like, hence reincarnation.

Fatalist. Christian. Pacifist.

When none of this happens, you'll have to take a long, hard look in the mirror.

He was supposed to blame sinners, not gays. As everybody has sinned then everybody is targeted and tested by God.

Or perhaps he should've blamed atmospheric conditions, which are what actually determine weather?

Secondly, Obama just threw Israel under a bus, so God is now throwing Judgement onto America as a whole.

The whole idea of god actually caring about, much less favoring a specific one, the human concept of countries is silly. It's adorable when a culture think themselves sky daddy's favorite.

Maybe he should have built his house on a rock -not in a floodplain.

I don't know anything about the person in question, but many unpleasant things are prophesied against false shepherds generally.

He'll get around to that...
He must like to take His time. There was an article in the newspaper at the time that said an old article from an old Galveston TX hurricane asked why saloons always seemed to survive... :)

That happened in 1900.

We also note that the Roman Empire had lots of gay people, but it's only after Christianity was made legal did the Empire fall....

Although God has used natural disasters as punishment before, we can't know without a divine revelation whether it is judgement or a trial.
Or just because He left the Disaster Mode on during His Sim City game... :)

Oh yea, that is where I want to be, yea yea.
It was kind of like a miracle: even now, you can drive around in the French Quarter and see where the flood suddenly seems to stop where the "nightclub scene" is. Keep in mind that it's not like Bourbon Street is much higher in elevation than the others. It's like the flood just ... stopped ... at a particular intersection ....

Secondly, Obama just threw Israel under a bus, so God is now throwing Judgement onto America as a whole.
Israel isn't God and we shouldn't treat it like one.

I'm not understanding how we came to the conclusion that this leader did something wrong in the eye of God.
Inciting hatred and violence and denying (usually) that one is doing it. On TV. In front of thousands.

Why accept Jesus died for their sins when Jesus never talked about homosexuality? In Matt 19:12, which is as good as we are going to get in terms of gender issues, he notes that some men are without balls and we should just accept. So, Jesus was saying we should lay off the trans folk who were born or made that way. Can't we generalize that to gay people as well? Should Jesus ask Jesus for forgiveness for letting John lie on his lap during supper?

A rotten apple is still an apple, despite how much the other apples don't want to admit it.
