Depends on the depiction of Jesus at hand.

If you're talking about the kind, compassionate Jesus who had apparently infinite patience and great wisdom, then of course.

If you're talking about the apocalyptic Jesus who spoke constantly of Gehenna and the end times... not so much.

...that's not the Buddha. That's Hotei (or Budai), the Laughing Buddha. He's a Chinese deity who would later be adapted by Japan.

I know it's nitpicky, but that's a misunderstanding that's always bugged me.

Quite possibly, given that IOV They were both Divine Messengers!

They did live 500 years apart, though, which might have presented a slight problem. . . .
