Would teachers show bias

We Never Know

Would any of these teachers show bias in teaching children about life, health, and/or humans based on their own lives?
1. A straight religious teacher
2. A straight atheist teacher
3. A gay teacher
4. A transgender teacher
5. A bisexual teacher
6. A lesbian teacher

Why do you think this is a reasonable question. An individual may or may not be biased. There is an equal chance of an individual being biased or not regardless of their orientation or gender.

Why don't you give us your answer this question. That would help us understand what point you are attempting to make.

Its actually pretty simple.

Do you think.any of them would show bias when teaching children about life, health, and/or humans based on their life?

However if you think I should answer first... I will say this.
IMO I think the chances of them being bias is, in order...

1. A straight religious teacher
3. A gay teacher
4. A transgender teacher
6. A lesbian teacher
2. A straight atheist teacher
5. A bisexual teacher

If anyone is interested in seeing their own bias, here is the test:
Take a Test

I'm a teacher. I grade without looking at names.

The OP isnt about grading or names.

Example if Bob is a gay teacher and little Billy said something bad about gays(heard it from this dad), should Bob correct him because he is gay and discuss gay people with him or just correct him because speaking bad of people is wrong?

I think you are just showing your own bias.

Would you care to rank a Black person, or a Jewish person on the list? Is a Black person more or less likely to be biased than a White person?

Honestly I find the whole idea of judging people on these criteria to be disgusting.

Really?? What do the following have to do with race??
1. A straight religious teacher
2. A straight atheist teacher
3. A gay teacher
4. A transgender teacher
5. A bisexual teacher
6. A lesbian teacher

None of that has to do with race but you wanted to invoke the "race card" for what reason??

I can see a mentorship based on commonality and kinship with a student. It's not a wholly bad thing, but in today's hideous knee jerk climate, the best route now for a teacher is indifference and just teaching the curriculum as the school prescribed.

Just asking a question.

Judging people based on race is racism. Judging people based on gender, orientation, trans or cis, is still bigotry.

This is my point. I don't know Bob. And you suggest that we can judge Bob based on nothing more than his sexual orientation. That is bigotry.

I don't know Doug either. But I am not going to assume that Doug would handle the situation better or worse than Bob just because Doug is straight, or bisexual, or trans, or religious.

I am not going to make those kind of pre-judgements. And shame on anyone who would.

Bob should just correct little Billy because speaking bad of people is wrong, regardless.

I'm glad I don't teach English, history, government, anything controversial - just stem. One student once confronted me about the garden of eden , the age of the earth - they had been home-schooled before college, didn't know how old the earth was... turned out, not a single other Christian in class - I didn't say anything... not sure the best way to handle stuff like that.

Here's another one - had a Muslim student, president of the Muslim student association, fresh out of a ... very conservative country where women wear "ninja outfits" haha, what another Muslim told me, their feminist mom refused to wear the ninja outfit ...anyway, I'm female, pregnant (huge), teaching a bunch of guys how to run these big tensile materials tests - ripping steel apart... and this poor Muslim kid is in culture shock that some lady is in there running this lab... he confronted me, a bit nasty with asking questions, demanding this and that, cold stares, I had to be on my toes, not one mistake - he was waiting for a chance to take me down, but I know my **** ;).... so the last day of class he walks up with schedule. - "Is this you? Is this your class?" Hard stare, angry face. Haha, he signed up for another class with me!! We celebrated Ramadan together the next semester, that club invited me to their big feast, we sat and ate together, and they tried to explain it all to me... it's all good.

Non of this has to do with gender or race, the only thing a teacher should do, is to teach the curriculum. Personal views or understanding would be allowed after the class or if student ask directly.
