Would there be peace if there were just one religion?

There is a difference between a disagreement and a fight.
I'm talking about full on arguments, not polite or even rude disagreements, but full arguments where the people don't speak to one another for a month to six at a time because they don't like what the other one thinks. The line between a disagreement and a fight can be pretty blurry sometimes.

As I said, people can fight over the slightest thing

I was thinking after watching a chat show that discussed the subject if there would be peace if all the world had just one faith. What do you think? It seems to make sense. Also, as an add on point, just for fun, which religion would you like to see as that one faith?

It depends how you define peace. outwardly or inwardly?

Currently, there are only a few conflicts around the world, but if you compare it to even a couple of centuries ago, relatively there is peace. No kingdoms against Kingdoms, or Nations against Nations going on as it used to be.
Consider WW1 WW2, and before that, different emperors, like Changiz khan, emperor of China, Persian Kingdoms, or Rome, Greeks...which were always in war. Even the slavery was a normal custom. African Americans were discriminated just 100 yrs ago. But now things are changed significantly. President of USA is a black man!. So, clearly, it's a new age and things have been improving. I think things are going toward possitive direction.

Oh, your an Abrahamist! What is that?

No, I am not an Abrahamist. Which is to say, I don't recognize Abraham as (one of) my prophet(s). I am not an adherent of either Judaism, Christianity, Islam or the Bahai Faith.

My point is that I don't see why being one would be reason to desire a theocracy. Although I recognize that, my opinions aside, Islam and the Bahai Faith at least seem to indeed make a point of wanting one.

Christianity is just one faith, and there is a ridiculous number of splinter-groups within Christianity. Just look at Catholics vs. Protestants! Christian unity seems impossible. If Christianity was the only religion in the world, it would not alleviate the human tendency to argue over who is right and who is wrong. It would not alleviate the human need for an Us vs. Them worldview. Actually, this would be the case no matter which religion was the only one in existence.

But maybe with a whole world of Taoists ...
