Would you be upset if your religion decreased in size in the future?

If so, why would you be upset? Is there something about your religion that makes it so that a person shouldn't convert from it, or are numbers important?

Not at all, as a Christian I expect that Christianity will dwindle before the end comes. Jesus commented to his disciples "Will I find faith?" concerning the last days. It says for the "very elect's sake" the extreme tribulation will be shortened. There will only be a minute remnant left, in fact, there already is.

A bit, because the fewer people who work to build the Beloved Community, the longer it will take.

I'd be disappointed if there were fewer atheists because would become even easier to marginalize us or dismiss our concerns. But I'm not really worried about losing any individual, unless they joined a harmful religious group.

Not many people follow the darker paths as it is so I don't know if I would really notice. The scarcity of like minded folks and the loneliness that accompanies this fact both serve to make a chance encounter with a fellow practitioner all the more enriching or disheartening depending on what they're actually like. Either way it's always a learning experience.

True believeers never convert. As Peter sys "Where would we go?"

It would not surprise me if Christianity diminished while the anti-christ is in power. Usually the devout end up dead and those who aren't true believers convert. Also at a time like that Christians might find it easier to just go to Heaven and stay there until the Kingdom comes.

I wouldn't really care if I was the last one on Earth with my beliefs.

Decrease in people following religion is something that would make my faith go stronger.. many Hadith of the prophet Muhammed (pbuh) says that religion will be less and less known by humans, and as for Islam it will be something very strange in the end of times.

Upset? Not majorly, but a bit disappointed nonetheless - depending on if you take "upset" and "disappointed" as being similar emotions or different.

Numbers are not important (imo)

Each individual is free to believe in what they find most convincing

What people believe in is their own business

It's a free world!

Nope, I wouldn't be upset. Numbers don't translate to truth. Remember at one time everyone thought the world was flat. They were all wrong.

As there's no way of really knowing how many follow the same religion as me it's not like I'd likely find out. I think our numbers would have to grow in order for a loss to be really noticed. :p

It's tough for a Christian to anwser because of prophecies that exist in the NT that we believe are really from God. The gist is that the nation of God's people that we believe we are will only continue grow until it's numbers are like the sand on the seashore. In other words the Christian typically doesn't worry about the issue because of the faith he has the God will deliver on promises he's made.

I would be sad to see it dwindle. IMO it is the most beautiful and wise/deep understanding of reality- it would be a loss to the world if it were forgotten. But really, it doesn't matter much what happens as this life and what happens here is only temporary. Whatever reality is exists as truth eternally, whether people believe in it or not.
