Would you choose God

If I was a theist with children, I would tell God that my children are not your playthings for your amusement as a test of loyalty. As if a god didn't, or wouldn't know in the first place.
Suppose you have 2 childrens.
Would you choose your one child over your another one ? then what will be your answer ? :)

Of course , that would get me smited over my bravery at admonishing the almighty. ;0)
I believe my experience is that God doesn't play.

Abraham did

I wouldn't

As far as I care Abraham failed the test
I believe Abraham's son was a gift from God. Sometimes we get the idea that we own our children when the truth is they are only given to us for short time. I have mine back because they live with me.

Children own themselves, to call them a "gift" is to call them property

Abraham was a disgusting and severely messed-up human being

If I had kids I would never even contemplate killing them just because a person who is big and powerful told me to, that would be depraved

Abraham failed a test

I have 2 kids. I by no means think that I "own" them.
I'ld rather say that I have a reponsability towards them to protect them, keep them fed and safe and warm.
And last but not least, to respect them as humans and cultivate their curiosity and make sure they get educated and "armed" to go out into the world and build out their life. As a parent, my first job is to prepare them to "leave the nest" in the best possible way.

And with "best possible way", I mean for them. Not for me.
