Rex, you bring out many interesting points that are absolutely true. This time of year is not related to Christ's birth, since it is most recognized as occuring in the Spring, but to pagan tradition. You also bring out the concept of excess, which, I think we can all relate to in the way that Christmas has become, to many, about material gifts. However, there are also those who do relate it to the Christian spiritual activities, such as the reflection and celebration in worship.

It is unfortunate that you are being bombarded with these psuedoChristian approaches, such as the emails, etc. Even being a Christian, I am, too, irritated and appalled at some of the attitudes, marketing and the like that goes in the name of Christian love.

Good points, no offense taken. I thank God we don't have a lot of Jerry Falwells here.

Pretty much anytime i post something on my journal and then post it here, the journal comes out of alot of anger/hurt/frustration with local people or my uncle/mother/aunt whichever. I dont get frustrated with 95% of you guys, because you are all so incredibly educated/tolerant. I only get frustrated with the 5% that are either a: Word of Faith sheeple like i used to be, b: intolerant morons, c: those that say random things and expect people to know what they are talking about and debate.-
