Not your average Mormon
No huge plans for the immediate future, but my husband and I hope to go to the Holy Land next year. There is a tour given by a man who was born in Jerusalem to Jewish parents, moved with his Father to New York City as a small child and who, along with his father, converted to Mormonism. I attended a Passover Meal (a Sedar dinner) that he presided over and some of the information he gave us was absolutely fascinating.

I'll probably also do a bunch of gardening, reading, writing and catching up on my sleep. I'm also going to do some volunteer work. There is an organization known as Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in southern Utah. It is the largest no-kill animal sanctuary in the U.S. They have what is called a "First Response Team." Whenever there is a natural disaster such as Hurricane Katrina or the earthquake in Haiti, as soon as the Red Cross has attended to the needs of the people in the area, the Best Friends First Response Team heads to the location of the disaster to rescue the animals who were abandoned. I'm going to apply to be a part of that team.

Who knows, I might even clean my house!
