I'm a college student majoring in Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus on Religion and Philosophy. My school doesn't offer Religious Studies so this is as close as I can get. I'd transfer but I've already done that twice.

I was raised Pentecostal (by my dad; mom is Christian but not as religious) and now I guess you could say I'm searching.

I have an older sister, brother, and twin sister.

That's pretty much it. See ya around.

Thanks, Seyorni. I've looked into the Abrahamic religions, Paganism, Wicca, some of the reconstructionist religions, Taoism, and a little into Hinduism, Buddhism, and I very briefly looked into Satanism. I've also looked into Unitarian Universalism (don't quite get it) a little and probably a couple others but I can't remember which. I think I've come to the conclusion that I don't believe in any deity but am (or would like to be) spiritual but not so much religious.

I am, Reptillian. I go to school here. It's a bit too close to MN (where I grew up) for my taste but it's affordable.

there are religions that do not believe in a deity of some sort, like Buddhism, Jainism, Satanism, and yes, the somewhat confusing Unitarian Universalism...

I am a member of the Unitarian Universalist Church of the Larger Fellowship. If you Google it, you will find plenty of material about it. It isn't near as confusing as most people think. The problem most people have with it is the lack of specific dogma. most people want you to be able to sum up what it's all about in a couple of sentences, and that isn't always easy for an individual UU member, however, the basic ideas behind the church itself are relatively simple.

Wooo! Its rare I meet another South Dakota resident online. I'm in Sioux Falls, went to South Dakota State University for college.

Funny. That's where I am right now. I was at Black Hills State last year but hated how small it was. I like SDSU much better.

SDSU is good if you're studying biology or engineering, but their religion and philosophy departments have room for improvement. Have you thought about taking some religion/philosophy classes at USF or Augie? I took one religion class and two philosophy classes at SDSU. The religion one was a decent intro to various world religions. I don't think I would have done so well in my "Logic and Set Theory" math class if it hadn't been for one of the philosophy classes I took.

It's actually ok here so far. They just started a Geography of Religion series so I took Middle East this semester and next semester is US and Europe. Plus they're working on making Religious Studies it's own major.

Augie is out of my price range, especially since I have another sister in college too and only one parent helping. I have no idea what USF is.

Edit: Assuming "USF" means University of Sioux Falls, I just looked it up, and it's out of my price range too. I transferred from Edinboro, PA to make the financial aid thing easier on my mom. It cost a couple thousand more than here but my aid didn't cover all of it so we had to take out another loan. And, as I said, only one parent is helping so I have to be careful about where I go. Anyway, I promised my mom I wouldn't transfer again seeing as I'm on my third school at SDSU.

Yeah, they're both pretty pricey. USF does stand for the University of Sioux Falls. I can relate to the whole money/parent factor in making education decisions. How are you liking it here in South Dakota? I'd imagine that its a bit different from PA.

SDSU is a great school. Heck, I went there for seven years so you know I liked it. :)

It's alright but I miss PA. It was warmer there but still had its down points since it was in the snow belt. But I liked being in a more populated area. My sister and I are talking about moving to Maine when we graduate.

7 years, wow! Hopefully I'll only be here for two. I plan on graduating Spring 2012.
