Yogi 'Survives Without Food' For 70 Years

Friend ben,

Personal opinion is that The body is just an illusion what is is *consciousness* and those who reach to the nirvanic state do not remain in the body which is the gross aspect of consciousness.
Food is only a requirement of the gross body and when the body itself is irrelevant then the food requirement too is similar.
Yes, on the other hand extreme fasting led Gautama towards the middle path and towards nirvana. Meaning that one can approach the gross from the subtle or vice-versa.

the experiment is going on, any conclusion in advance indicates the presence of biased thinking, this tendency existed in people even at the period of socrates and is so dangerous !!!

Friend nameless,

Experiments are on since the advent of humans which has brought with it the developed mind that has that free will to wander aimlessly anywhere it wishes but then that is only DUALITY to be accepted both as true and as illusion.

Friend zenzero, agree with you, ultimately the consciousness that identifies with the body must eventually leave it, either through the 'front' door that leads to Nirvana by realizing the unreality of conceptual reality, or the 'back' door that leads to reincarnation by not having yet realized the transient nature of material form which serves as a temporary self reference center, and thereby go down with the sinking ship when it 'dies'.

This is false. I call baloney. Prove it.

You could be right Auto, but I approach people like Randi with as much skepticism as those who claim magical feats. I should not be spending time investigating this but I will be away over the weekend so I will throw you some links that I have quickly managed to find. I don't know how valid this sources are, you make up your mind. What I find interesting is that many religious skeptics criticise people for believing in the supernatural and not questioning their sources but I've seen that so many of these 'skeptics' will side immediately with any source that agrees with their beliefs without questioning or investigating those sources.

 The bs continues. You really must try and find better sources if you are to discredit someone than a couple of disgruntled "ex-skeptics".

Do I really need to discredit him? It wasn't really my point.
I am a skeptic, that's all.

Now, put up or...well, you know.

Yeh, I have read about him and it has made me skeptical. I am also naturally skeptical of anybody who is biased and makes money out of it. I also made a point about hypocricy. In none of that was my aim to convince you all that he is a fraud.

It's quite easy to search google, if you want to. I can't exactly provide you with more than internet sources.

The Relentless Hypocrisy Of James Randi

I've noticed that a few sites aren't available any more.

I also wonder why people volunteer for being tested if they aren't confident in their ability...
