You know things are wacky when G. W. Bush is a voice of reason.

I haven't heard anything from Trump which threatens a free press.
A war of words with them is part & parcel of this liberty.
And his advocating tort reform for libel is reasonable.

Perhaps you should listen better. Programming his basket of deplorables and peanut gallery of simpletons with the conviction that the Fourth Estate is the "enemy of the people" is reminiscent of Goebbels at his worst.
Perhaps I don't consider such a war of words a loss of freedom.
What rights have the media lost under Trump?

I was never much of a fan of Bush, but can we trade them out? You know just do a swap.
Don't forget that Dubya started 2 wars costing us over a trillion samolians.
He also increased taxation, spending, the deficit, & regulation.
To be worse than Bush, Trump will have to develop his record much more.

Trump wants to increase military spending by $54 billion, stating that he wants to "start winning wars".
The Devil is in the details.
To win a war against ISIS could be reasonable.
To get back into nation building would be disastrous.

Btw, I'm OK with increasing defense spending, but not offense spending.

Do you think throwing money at the ISIS problem is a viable solution?

Money alone won't solve anything.
We'll just have to wait & see if it's accompanied by competence.
I guess my hesitation is that we are hearing about a lot of budget increases but not where those funds are coming from. Between his "wall" and this needless expansion in the military, I would be incredibly surprised if our taxes don't sky rocket.

He wasn't my first choice for Prez, & he continues to justify not being first choice.
I'll hope for the best, & plan for the worst.

I still feel like I have been cheated, you know? Any of the down sides of Hillary I thought we could take heart knowing Trump wouldn't do those things. Let's go down the list:

Lack of fundies in the oval office.
Reduction in military expansion.
Reduction in saber rattling.
Overall reduction in government spending.
Less government regulation
Overall reduction in international corruption.

It's too early to judge results....since we have none.
And it's hard to predict because Trump is a political newbie who makes regular 'adjustments'.

Sure, but we have speculation coming from the horses mouth. We can only hope Congress offers a voice of reason in regards to passing the budget. I am not optimistic.

Congress is typically a moderating influence on presidential ambitions.
