Regardless, it is really annoying and unwarranted when on public transportation. I mean, when you're trying to sit next to someone and you're almost falling off the seat because they won't move over and their legs are wide open. Right. A sensible activist seeking genuine equality/justice and a "social justice warior" are *not* the same thing.
The distinction *needs* to be made for actual progress to be made, since SJWs are detrimental.

I think it's always been primarily derogatory...not certain though and not really into a lot of buzzwords and labels my self.

I thought it was a variant of keyboard warrior...regardless...calling people SJWs probably won't advance society but it won't harm it either. It should be noted that these clowns are directing their pretensious crap at people who are genuine activists as often as at genuine bigots. They seem to spend a lot of time attacking people advocating variations of the principles they claim to be defending and often siding with the bigots in the process. Anything that can puncture that narcissism is good in my book.
