Good question! I've noticed that to and can only say it's a coincidence.

However, it's not just LDS. Angellous_eve....somethin' or other started one too. :bonk:

I think I remember you saying that you went on a mission to Japan. If so, what part did you serve in ???

I served in the Japan Kobe mission, which since has been disolved with half going to Hiroshima and half to Nagoya.

I went to Tokyo from 85-87. Mt Fuji was also in our mission. I spent 8 months in Fuji city. I also spent time in the Yokohama and Kawasaki. My brother-in-law went to Kyoto.

Kobe seems like a great place. I love skiing and I thought it might be fun to go skiing in Kobe. I thought it might be cool to see Okinawa too. I hear it is a little bit like Hawaii there. Japan has the best of both worlds. Skiing in the north and sandy beaches and sun in the south.

My wife is from Saitama, but I'm not sure if that was in Tokyo north or south.

I spent four months in Kyoto. It may have been my favorite area.

I haven't heard of Saitama. Our mission seemed huge for the amount of missionaries we had. It could have been in our mission. What was it near? Tokyo Disneyland was in the north mission, if that gives you any sort of reference and I also remember Narita airport being in the north mission. I will look up Saitama.

We used to go into Tokyo on our day off. We would visit Harajuku and Akihabara. Those were fun times. The Tokyo tower is another reference to the area that I was in.

FFH Saitama is a huge province on the north-east of Tokyo. Stayed there a few weeks.

Kyoto is definitely my favourite part of Japan (that I've seen) but haven't been to Nara. I hear it's.... timeless.

Okay I am looking at the map of the Tokyo and the surrounding areas. Our south mission stretched from about Kawaguchi, or the north side of Tokyo to Hamamatsu, which is just south of Fuji City.

I see Saitama on the map and it is definitely in the north mission.

That was funny, I just assumed it was Nutshell that posted this. I did not even look to see who posted this. You could have passed as Nutshell.

That's cool Chris, that you have seen so much of Japan. I love Japan. It is such a cool place, and the people are so extremely nice and friendly, once you get to know them. I wish the rest of the world had the same kind of respect for other human beings, as the Japanese do. I cannot think of a better place to visit than Japan. Everyone should have the chance to visit Japan at least once in their life. You are one of the few who I am sure appreciates this great area of the world. There is no place quite like it on earth.
