Your bumper stickers:

Exactly. Bumper stickers cause accidents, as folk start tailgating to make out what they say. Not everyone's eyesight is what they should be, so text size isn't important, no matter how big some will tailgate to read it. Plus.... cops pull over cars with bumper stickers, given any excuse. They get more tickets given out that way, and even arrests if they can find an excuse to search the car.

So, if you want tickets and getting rear-ended, go ahead and put on bumper stickers... ;)

dare i ask you to cite your source? is this information coming from anywhere but you?

Yeah, it was time these people were dealt with. Hence me making the bumper sticker. Although, I think its usually people so stupid that they dont notice a long line of cars tailing them with open fields of road in front of them, so I wont hold out too much hope that they'll notice the sticker, let alone be able to read it.

Yeah, sadly, I think it'll take a lot more than a bumper sticker to get through to most of the people, but I still love it. I really wish people had to take a real-world driving test once every few years. I'd sacrifice my time to go through it, if everyone else had to.

The reason I ask is because I have spent several hours looking and making phone calls and have found absolutely nothing that actually supports your claim that bumper stickers cause accidents.

I don't know if they cause accidents, but they can bring out the worst in people. People have been stopped because an officer found their bumper stickers suspiciously right-wing, suspiciously left-wing, or suspiciously non-Christian. In March, a Republican driver repeatedly rammed a car with an Obama-Biden bumper sticker, and a few days later Sarah Palin urged teabaggers to stop the driver if they see an Obama bumper sticker. Expertlaw.com says unusual vanity plates, bumper stickers, and objects in the windows or hanging from the rear view mirror can draw the attention of the police.

I have a very very small Ahimsa bumper sticker that almost nobody can see. And I was Guilted into putting one of those my kid is so smart he is an honor roll student stickers. My wife told my son to ask me to put it on my car. When I told him I don't like bumper stickers. He asked me if I was proud of him. I could hear my wife laughing in the other room. Both my wife and son got large amounts of entertainment over this. Due to the fact I don't think we need to tell the world my kid gets good grades.

I have read years ago that some police forces pull over cars with Vietnam Vets bumper stickers, because they are more likely to have drugs in the car.

Um... me. Had plenty of stickers in the '60s and seen the clowns myself.

I've been driving more years than you've been on the planet, son.
That goes for you too, 'yourhopeboundheart', 2X as long as you've been alive.

I have cops in my family... I know what I'm talking about. Of course, nowadays these texting phones far overshadow the bumper sticker distraction, but why risk your neck for this nonsense?

Most drivers with ANY sticker are young and might have drugs, is the cops view.

In the insurance company's eyes people with vehicles that have stickers on them are prone to road rage.
Especially the ones with the bumper sticker:
Protected by Smith and Wesson.
Or perhaps:
Tailgate Me And I'll Flick A Booger On Your Windshield
