Your Favorite Way to Enjoy Alcoholic Drinks?

When I'm having alcohol that's 15% or more, I like going slow and having a savory appetizer to break the taste, which I often find nauseating if not for the savory stuff.

My favorite way of drinking is to take small sips, never chug, and space out the sips so that I can feel the alcohol start to set in instead of drinking quickly and then waiting for it to start taking effect. This lets me build up a mood and feels so good when I'm with someone and we just relax and chat while in that state of mind.

What about you? What's your favorite way to enjoy drinks, especially "heavier" ones (which I define as having 15% or more alcohol, being the lightweight that I am :p)?

On the rare occasions I drink, I do the classic British man thing. You sit outside a pub with a cigarette in one hand and a pint in the other. When somebody else is talking you alternate between having one sip of the pint and one drag on the cigarette. You have short breaks from doing that when it's your turn to talk.

I tend not to drink anything heavier than Strongbow nowadays. I used to drink vodka neat from the bottle when I was a student though. It was cheap vodka of course, bought from the newsagent's across the street. It was so cheap that the label was handwritten.

I am not at all classy.

I think our dinking tastes change as we age, at lest for me. My only drink when I was younger was a good Scotch and water, never a hangover. Now its primarily wine especially enjoyed around the fire. If I'm going out I like margaritas. Favorite place to drink use to be on the deck the boat docked at restaurant/bar that had dock service.

I have a fairly extensive collection of whiskies, mostly bourbon and peated scotch. But I also drink good tequila or mezcal.

I always sip, never chug. Almost always with, or just after a meal, although in the winter I will do a hot toddy (bourbon with ginger tea) before bed. At a restaurant, I might do a cocktail (margarita, mojito, or chocolate martini), depending on the offerings. At home, it is typically a whisky, neat.

I think it’s better to drink with someone or in a pub as the atmosphere helps you along.

I love most alcoholic drinks, beer ale cider wine,I like whiskey and tequila but my favourite is vodka from the freezer.

I think it’s a good idea not to drink on an empty stomach,if I drink red wine at home I like to snack on cheese grapes crackers charcuterie which mean I get to drink more .

Depends on the drink.
Usually I mix my rum with Pepsi. It’s actually not as harsh on the stomach.
But I do also mix various bourbons with Dr Pepper. I know that sounds weird but a lot of bourbon tastes similar to the good doc anyway and the aniseed quells stomach issues. Brandy I mix with lemonade to water it down.

I don't reckon chugging anything is a good idea unless you really enjoy throwing up but sometimes I enjoy a spirit (spiced rums please) enough that my sips are large and frequent.
