Your philosophy. Keep It Simple Stupid

One thing that I see all too frequently is people coming here with questions and fears. and that is NOT the problem.
The problem lies in the fact that their fears and concerns are actually very well founded. Usually in the forms of human intolerance, and specifically the intolerance of various religious groups toward minorities, sexual orientation, poverty, other philosophies, etc....
...and it occurred to me that many (if not most) people fail to live up to their own religions and/or philosophies. Often I see this as a result of them over-analyzing their particular faith, and similarly them deferring to "wise men" who spend their lives over-analyzing their faith.

When that large, disheveled man asks you for money: when you cast a vote for a leader: when your child asks what happens after the dog (or your father) dies: THOSE are the kind of moments when you have to have your faith right there, easily accessible, and ready in your heart. You can't go look up some multi-hundred page text on the shelf.... or convene a rabbinical review of the situation.
So two things...
1. take a moment. take a deep breath....and use this forum's [reply box] to write out the basic tenet, of what your religion/philosophy/belief system teaches you to do, how to perceive the world, how to live your life. and do it all in 3 lines of text or less. No links. No pictures. No video clips.

and then ....

2. Read it. and understand that those lines are what your lord/god/culture/self are all about.
Now then, realize that every other bit of trivia fluff that is in any of your Leviticus this, or Sanskrit scrolls that, or book of whatever....is just fluff  ... If it supports your religion's big idea great, but more importantly, if it goes against the main tenet; then by definition, and the teachings of your own most High... that fluff is WRONG, and should be ignored or dismantled as some human error, or some human evil.

Here is my own example:
Learn from everything. Teach by example. Make humanity better, in big ways and small, for all who come after you, for they are more important than you are. Meet your future and your death knowing that even if you didn't do the best, you did try.

Its an unknowable unprovable. The only reality we know is subjectivs. Wheb you say objective reality you should be saying empirical reality.

Not exactly, because it's not been experienced, and seems almost impossible to experience. No-Mind meditation gives you glimpses of it though

Although Buckaroo does speak elequently for all us monkey-boys, and everyone's posts are most.......intriguing. I really had meant for this to be a somewhat more serious thread.

Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourself. Philippians 2:3

Being careful not to adopt his ways because better does not mean more righteous. No one is righteous for another person.

Do not bring your servant into judgment, for no one living is righteous before you. Psalm 143:2

I was entirely serious, albeit with some mirth tossed in.
As Buckaroo says....
Don't be mean.
No matter where you go, there you are.

Use each moment to re-create yourself into who you want to be. For every action, ask yourself if this is the way you want to express yourself to the universe.

Treat others as you would want to be treated. Lead by example. Try to listen as you do not learn from speaking. Leave Judgement to your Lord. Love your neighbor. To much is given, much is expected. Give generously. Know you will never be perfect. Be slow to anger but stand up for yourself. Be righteous support justice but be forgiving as well. Show people you love them rather than just telling them.

Nope. Not even close. The concept you push does not exist can not been none and can not be experienced. Your lost in subjectivity. Even no mind is subjective. Even your desire for it is a value.

Ethics are more important than etiquette. It's nice when you can have both, but when you can't: choose conscience over courtesy, principles over politics, accuracy over accord, and if you have to, fairness over friendships.

No phony, provisional outter-peace is ever worth sacrificing your inner peace for.
