I'm a socialist, in a vague sense.

I'm not a Marxist, or a communist, and I'm not an anarchist (though I'm fairly sympathetic to that particular political theory).

I don't think I'm a revolutionary anymore. Increments of change have gotten us pretty far, so gradual reform can't be as useless as its attackers suggest.

That trade can spread and create wealth seems to me undeniable.

I like words like "decency" and "fairness" and "justice", and not words like "dialectic" and "class-war" and "progress".

I distrust politicians right down to my bones. Businessmen right to my soul.

I think market fundamentalism is the biggest threat to prosperity and happiness for most of the world's people.

And if I thought that enough people felt the same way as you do, I would probably join the movement to readjust capitalism to work 'correctly'.

Really, I'll subscribe to any movement as long as it's direct aim is to begin to limit the role of the corporation in some actual meaningful way (say, they earn three times as much as the average laborer instead of 400 times) and it truly protects individual liberties. Call it whatever.

I tend to be Trotskyist: however, this form of Communism isn't wholly political. I guess it's a social movement which does affect politics, but the scope goes into economics and civil rights more so than politics (the instalment of a completely secular, worker's democracy is the Trotskyist ideal).

All in all, I'm a dirty commie :D

So many radicals on this board. I consider myself a Social Democrat, which is still quite extreme for the United States. I belong to the Democratic party, because they are the best hope we have for any sort of social/economic improvement.

I don't know quite how 'radical' we are.. just sympathetic to radical ideals.

My political affiliation is the same as my religious affiliation: none. It's better for me because it suits my desire, and ability, to think for myself.

This! What ever happened to people thinking for themselves and voting accordingly. In my opinion affiliations, like religion, is just another way for someone else to think for you.

I used to give my no2 to the Greens but after their performance in government here never again.

In the past I have always voted for the most left wing candidate or party that I could vote for. I'm going to have trouble voting for anyone next time and will probably not vote.

I am anti the EU, anti capitalist and think the 'free market' is pants.

For all practical purposes I believe I live in a single party state. That bothers me.

I am frustrated with the hereditary oligarchs running my country/continent but I don't think they're going anywhere anytime soon.

Right now I'm a card carrying member of the I'm Right and You're Wrong Party.

Just left and will probably soon return to the Pinching the Bridge of My Nose in Frustration Party.

But for the time being I just felt like jumping on the bandwagon.

I tend to see myself as a Liberal in the British/European mold. Although to a certain extent I'm also a British styled Conservative, and so I'm probably best described as a Conservative-Liberal. Politics is fun.

(Oh, and the hyphen is very important)

Generally, I usually hold to policies and positions that are socially permissive and encourage the role and reach of the free market. I'm also a believer in a strong, interventionist foreign policy and military, and a gradualist when it comes to constitutional matters.

I would describe myself as mostly libertarian. However I do hold a number of socially conservative views but for gay marriage for instance I don't think the government should have any say in marriage but churches should disallow gay marriage. I am also very much opposed to abortion.

A "Coffee" Communist. I used the word Coffee when I had a discussion with my brother telling him the versatility of Coffee and how it can be complimented with so many flavors.
Essentially it just means liberal Communism :D.

I have taken such a stance after realizing over the years that my pure political ideology has always been Communism. After numerous debates on this topic I was getting called a Communist and I took it as an insult until I read past the propaganda and realized what Communism was. I later developed the idea of a true liberal society and came to the conclusion that Communism is deal for this. Progressive thinking and communist governing is the ideal situation to bring equality and social order. Lower communism(Socialism) is the most ideal method for this and has worked successfully in countries as of now that do not even admit to implementing it.
