Glass is too heavy. Nobody uses glass anymore, especially since there are plastics with a better refractive profile than glass in addition to lighter weight.

I have glass ones, due to the scratch bit. They are hardex lenses for safety. Back when I coached junior high volleyball, at least once a season I'd take a stray ball off the side of the face, and smash them.

I had plastic ones ... once.
