So, my lovely fellow RFers....I have an incredibly silly assignment I have to do for a web design class. And, I'm enlisting you all to help me! Are you excited yet? :D

So, the assignment is I have to interview people about how they use the internet. So, if you could help a gal out and give me at least a short answer so I don't have to go tracking down people via phone, I'll be a very happy llama. :flirt:

How would you define the internet, and when did you first begin using it?

What browser do you currently use?

How much time each week do you spend doing the following online activities:
Browsing the web for work or school
Browsing the web for fun
Sending e-mail
Using and chatroom or IM program
Playing games
Downloading music, software or other things
Creating/publishing a personal website or blog
Shopping

Yes, I know, it's inane and somewhat painful. But think how I feel: before I get to learn HTML, I spend two weeks having to pretend I don't know what the internet is :areyoucra

Thank you for helping me :rainbow1:

How would you define the internet, and when did you first begin using it?

Internet is a huge sprawling computer communication system that allows instant delivery of information from one PC or from other servers to other PCs over various wired and wireless media. I first used it (e-mail) regularly in 1991 as a post-doc. The first thing I thought was "this is great! It is going to revolutionize communication!" I ran home and told my husband, who was in sales at the time, and I told him pretty soon he was going to do everything by e-mail. I don't think he believed me! Anyway, I have been addicted to the internet since that time.

Well, those were very non specific answers, but I can't really get more specific without a stop watch, and that would just be silly. :D

I always found much college work was like that.
Either it was totally out of date
useless
or I already knew it.
however I usually managed to find something worth thinking about each day.

It was the mixing and talking with other students that taught me most.
