The Venus Project has been around for decades, although it's not very well-known. It's basically a proposition of a new type of society that doesn't use money. Instead, it uses a "Resource Based Economy". I think you may find some of it interesting, as there is heavy focus on Environmental preservation, Equality, Peace and general happyness etc etc.

That's good to hear! I'm glad that you've managed to change your lifestyle and "get of the Grid" so-to-speak, it's an aspiration that I too share (although I'm no way near as far into it as you are ATM ^_^).

More and more nowadays, I find myself coming to the conclusion that the Establishment cannot be trusted to take care of us now and in the future: Government see you as just a Tax-payer, and the Megacorps see you as nothing more than a Drone Consumer. I think society should move to a more people-powered system, where through Education, Altruism and Science we could aspire to achieve a more prosperous future

Out of curiosity, have you ever heard of things like The Venus Project, Jacque Fresco, and The Zeitgeist Movement at all?
