Hahaaa...thanks!
Yeah, a few neighborhoods around here are where trafficking is the worst. Women and children just disappear without a trace, but the residents know what's happened to them. We've been in contact with a few area attorneys who work with the FBI in capturing hotel rooms with the St. Louis landscape in the background through the windows. It's become a way for the trafficking and prostitution rings to be found and their whereabouts.
CAMP does SOOOOO much for these residents. They're not the hipster "ooh what a neat-looking neighborhood to have a coffee shop in" kind. It's the residents who daily see drug users and sellers, the crackhouses for the forgotten, and the prostitutes who are trying their best to stay alive another day. The kids at CAMP get food, bikes, classes, medicine, etc. and the activists there are hard-edged, who chuckle and nod when Abby Hoffman is brought up as if to say, "Dude, that's so old news. Catch up, now, we have work to do."
