  • haha. i remeber that.

thanks, same to you, i hope you do well in your last year of uni and all the best with your moving out of home. see you around.
the common reason is kind of like that. what most people do is they save money first before borrowing so that after borrowing they can pay it off quickly. i have not heard of one person who is not a muslim to have saved up enough money to pay for his/her house without having borrowed from the back. what you say would be the best thing to do but it just hasn't been done yet.

alot of people though have an ex who's taken the kids and the house and so if they didn't work in the mines they would not be able to get by, they pay child support plus they want a house of their own so only a mines wage can get them through. someone i know barely has $300 left to live off by the end of the week.

i turned 21 in november. i hope to be married this year if possible but if i only get engaged and she doesn't want to get married too soon then next year will be the year.

( i know, i was the first aussie you spoke to, you were quite happy to have an aussie around, well i think so anyway lol)
'money with interest' is borrowing money from someone and paying them interest along with what you have borrowed. so basically you pay back more than you borrowed. same with with lending, one cannot charge interest on the money that they have lended to someone. the amount that you lend will have to be the same amount that you get returned.

we are not forbiden from purchasing homes, if i for example wanted a home i will just save my money and then pay it in full without having borrowed from the bank. and on top of that muslims generaly lend money to one another without interest (since it is forbiden).

i hope i've explained it clear.

i agree 120% with you on the second part. i personally never change to what others want me to unless i agree that it is to my benefit or that it is good in general.
yes that is a common intention.
i personally don't intend to by a house, money with interest is forbiden in islam, whether you take it or lend it. both are forbiden.

i intend to go to my home country and maybe get engaged and if that heppens i just want to stay there for a little while before i come back, it won't hurt to have a little extra money.
if i get engaged and all then no more mines for me. i'm saying that to people now rather than after i get married or engaged, cos then they'll just make fun and say the wife doesn't let me. lol.

everyone that i work with up here is surprised with me, i don't drink, i don't smoke, i don't intend to buy a house, they just look at me and wonder, what the hell does he do to all that money. lol. this is my first summer up here and i don't find the hot sun a problem unlike most who have been working in mines for over a decade. thats another thing they can't get their head around with me.
that's nice to hear, all the best to you Madhuri.

i've been in the mines pretty much ever since i dissapeared from around RF in april last year. the heat is killing us, everyone's started to lose weight now during summer. 10-15 litres of water go like nothing up here during a working day. lol thats alot of water.

    good luck with everything.
Yes, it seems like every year or so I try to increase the time I spend writing and sketching -- and each year the results are dismal. I have no idea why that is so. This year, I've already done twice as much sketching as last year, but it's too early to say whether I will keep at it. I think I will, but I've thought I would before now and have been wrong.

Have you seen "The King's Speech"? It's a good movie.
    Education must come first.

I had a good time with my younger brother and his family over Christmas. But I caught a cold from them and was out of it for a week afterwards.

Lately, I've wanted to spend less time on RF and much more time writing and sketching, but I haven't quite gotten my habits shifted around to make that happen yet.

Was your Christmas a good one?
I'm doing fine for a country boy lost in the big city. Are you up for a chat today? There doesn't seem to be much happening on the board at the moment.
    thank you.
how are you going with everything, you are in uni right, how's your break going?
hello Madhuri, long time no see. hope you are doing well.

unfortunately i don't have much time to go on here as i used to, due to work. i work in the WA mines so all we do is work and sleep. just came in to see whats happening.

All the best to you Madhuri
Since you believe Krishna is the all, what do you make of Jesus' claim to be the all in the Gospel of Thomas? Just thought you might find this interesting- "I come forth from that which is whole, from where the light came into being of it's own accord. Lift up a rock and I am there. Split a piece of wood and you will find me."
